A lot of people use Mill Ends - I never have, but not for ay particular
reason. They are a good idea for someone learning to cast though, no
point in wrecking a 40 quid line by practising.

And in the snagpits I fish there's no fear of wrecking it by fishing.

I do have a couple of named lines (Cyril and Jennifer) but in the ordinary
run of fishing almost all makes are broadly equivalent. It's only when
pushing limits of one kind or another that someone with my mediocre casting
ability wll notice any difference.

There are plenty more reviews knocking about on the web, and I have not
yet seen anything negative.

Well worth very serious consideration at any rate. May not be everyone´s
cup of tea, but I am more than happy with mine, and see no reason to
change to anything else, quite regardless of the price. The only thing
better for me personally would be my own prototypes in the same
material, with a couple of relatively minor modifications to suit me
personally( unfortunately not possible), or something from Ari T'hart
but also in the same material and an offset foot as here;

I will simply not entertain metal reels anymore, not even made from
"Hand-crafted" titanium, quite independent of the price.

There are even cheaper alternatives of course, and I have used a couple
which worked OK, though some have a tendency for some part of the reel
to flex too much under stress, which may cause problems ( Usuallly spool
sideplates). The below merely as demos, I have not used these specific
reels!!!! ;

which is three times what it cost when I had them. Still quite a few

there are plenty more such reels now, some at amazingly cheap prices,
which makes me wonder why people spend a fortune for a lot of "bling"
which is not only extremely expensive, but less functional, reliable, or
even suitable at all for a lot of flyfishing.

These die cast reinforced carbon fiber reels come in a very wide range
here, and mostly quite cheap. No idea whether they are sold in the UK ?

Anyway, that´s probably enough about that for the time being! :)

The sharkskin lines are indeed very good, but there are also some
disadvantages, and not everybody likes them.
