I'd not heard of any _actual_ attacks in Pontchartrain, but I have heard of
_claims_ that turned out to be small gators. *The "dangling feet as a fish", I
guess, has some _possibility_, but again, I've never heard of it being
documented as having happened. *Given the number of feet that have been dangled
in Pontchartrain and all the waters from there to, say, Mobile, if gar did
attack people under those or any other circumstances, the reports would be
common.

The reports would be common if it happens commonly, or if lots of
people made them up. If it happens rarely, and people don't make up
lots of reports, the reports will be rare. None of which informs the
question of whether or not gar attack people under those or any other
cirucumstances.
