Atlantic Salmon are intensively farmed in Tasmania (some escape)
and brood stock are sometimes deliberately released for anglers.
They don't naturally reproduce in the wild AFAIK.


Whoever put together the web site probably wasn't an angler and
got the photos mixed up.


Nothing was mixed up; it should be obvious, even to
dummies...$PAM!!!!!!

Defintely Salm Trutta NOT Salar.

The maxilliary bone does not extend behind the eye in salmo salar but it
does in salmo trutta. As I can see it, the picture shows the maxilliay bone
extending behind the fish's eye there fore a trout.

You're atom on. I begin an earlier adaptation of that website, and the picture DID appearance a landlocked AS, and addition cation for the picture shown, referencing a 'big brownie'. Someone care to get on the current version, though.
