Toilet paper........ after you eat moose/venison/elk/cow/pig/warthog
barley stew you should have some in your vest...........

Seriously, the little packs of tissues in a ziplock are great for
this.

....my Dad always said instead of carrying toilet paper, bring 3 corncobs...
2 red and 1 white. "afterwards", use a red one, then the white one to see
if you need the other red one. :-

I don't like listening to music when I'm outside -- fishing or skiing or

When I was younger I'd always have music blaring when I was outside,
but I don't ever do it anymore. I'd miss too much. I want to hear the
birds, the river, the trees rustling, the sound of a fish breaking the
surface. That's all music to me.

Chuck Vance (OK, so that was corny, but it's still true)

And of course the schhhhick of the finely tuned Norris making wispy
shavings. Right?

Bill
OBROFF- Frank learned me the beauties of outdoor fly tying during Penns. My
picnic table has been duly sworn into duty. Nothing quite like the laugh of
the woodpecker and the lilt of the goldfinch to accompany a session of
tying.

Well, I don't have a Norris, but a Clark & Williams wooden smoother
(55 degree bedding angle) makes some pretty fine music. :-)

And there's nothing like making a shaving so thin that it only has
one side. ;-)

Well said, my librarian brother.

Have I mentioned that you suck?

Should have added "...and the sound of the cat taking out a flicker."
Anyone got a pattern for yellow flicker feathers?

Somehow, I suspect you're NOT talking about me. I can't remember ever
going "schhhhick" and I'm certainly not finely tuned.

Is that some kind of plane used in making bamboo rods?

vince, the norris variety.
