Ah, social commentary from the intellectual quarter at long last! About
time, if you ask me. This place has suffered grievously from a lack of
educated critical analysis. It warms the heart to see someone of breeding
and refinement finally take an interest in our admittedly deficient (and
probably undeserving) little gathering.

Well, come on in.....sit down.....introduce yourself. Everyone is just
dying to meet an individual so eminently qualified to instruct us in the
fine points of convivial intercourse.

Well, our new pal fsdfasdfsd certainly does post prolifically
even though he/she/it is an anonymous nitwit with the vocabulary
of a not quite bright twelve year old. We can be grateful for
one thing I guess, at least he/she/it isn't a top poster. ;-)

Is there anyone on roff that we do not know *except* our pal alphabet soup?

Notice if you will, his "nomme de plume." The wonderful use of the left
hand. He attempts to throw us off by only using his left in that name. I
truely believe its a red herring. He may be a lefty, but I deduce, from his
oneirogmophobic style, he is indeed a conservative. Watch this one, he's
crafty.

Well, sure...we may have been taught not **** on our hands, but it was
taken for granted that gentlemen would wipe their own asses...and that
must be quite a build-up you have going for yourself. Now might I
suggest shoving a fly rod up your ass...

Well, I considered that. Culturally, it may be a religious affectation. I
derive this from the use of the left hand and the continuing reference to
"asswipe." Then again, never ascribe to genius, that that can be explained
with stupidity. So, taking that in to mind, he's probably just too busy
with his right.

I'd take a #6 Clouser minnow in smoke and white.

Doc Elder December 3rd, 2004 02:48 AM

If you had but one fly to take on a trip...

Taking this as a complete, non-species-specific exercise.... a #10 or #12
Muddler Minnow...I've fished it wet, I've fished it dry. I've cast them in
England and from Baltimore, Maryland area to San Diego, California and in
more states than I can recall easily between the latter two... and nothing
else has hooked me up with anywhere near as many different kinds of fish
under as many different conditions as ye old muddler.

Okay, I've nipped down the dressing a bit at times to make them fit what the
fish wanted, but I kinda' think that it's another advantage of it. There's
a lot of veils this fly can remove to make it just sexy enough for the fish
to attack it before it becomes plain naked.
