How 'bout if you stay at Cayo Largo for a week of guided bonefishing, lodging, and meals, paying full price or whatever discount you can manage short of free? Is that illegal under US law? You are one dumb, desperate mother****er, Dean. Why? Why? WHY?!.....must you boys seize every flimsy excuse to turn EVERY thread into a contest to determine who has the smallest penis? I mean, seriously, is it not enough that your penis is small enough to suit your needs? Does it REALLY matter that someone else has a smaller penis than yours? It isn't as if you HAVE TO handle anyone else's penis, you know.....it isn't like you're going to be subjected to the embarrassment of discovering that everyone in ROFF suddenly realizes that the penis you are holding in your hand is actually smaller than that being held in the hand of its owner.....right? Um.....well.....come to think of it, I guess that IS plausible. Hm.....I suppose we'll all just have to wait for the photographic evidence. Carry on. :) Wolfgang is there a photoshop expert in the house? |

I'm a reasonable fly fisherman for Trout on river & lake but I've not done any fly fishing for Bone Fish or Permit before, so I'd welcome any recommendations on web pages, good books, DVD's etc. which will help me research before hand. I've been talking to my local Orvis shop on tackle, flies, etc but any advice from the group Bone fisher people as to tactics etc would be really appreciated as well. Thanks in advance, You might try posting this question he http://www.danblanton.com/bulletin.php Lot's of sal****er folks who read and post there. HTH brians Thanks for that. I've had a quick look and I'll probably do so. Mind you, the thread that's been generated from what I thought was a relatively simple fishing question has become quite amusing to watch even if it is off topic :o) Regards, -- Andy Lawson (UK) |

That might not be the best choice. I'd guess that economics plays into this decision, and depending on when Castro (Fidel) dies, things might not be as good a deal. I don't see any indications that tourist safety will be much of an issue, but things are likely to be a bit, um, unpredictable when he dies and for several months afterward. Thanks. It is something we've thought about since he was reported as having medical problems. The short answer is that I'd offer that the Bahamas and/or Florida Keys might make a more certain prospect even if hindsight indicates it wasn't the least-expensive. This is a case where a guide, or at least a boat and operator, isn't necessary, but perhaps worth considering if time is short. Yep... I've already found out details of a couple of guides in the area who work out of the local hotels. I'm a reasonable fly fisherman for Trout on river & lake but I've not done any fly fishing for Bone Fish or Permit before, so I'd welcome any recommendations on web pages, good books, DVD's etc. which will help me research before hand. If you don't already have a salt-suitable setup, I'd recommend a good used Billy Pate reel (with some basic spare parts pre-purchased) and any decent 9ish weight rod that happens to strike your fancy (and budget). If the budget allows, a brace might make a good investment, and if it is a "once in a lifetime" trip, one or both sold off after the adventure. I've not heard of that particular reel, perhaps it's unique to NA? I've been considering a Battenkill Mid Arbor IV or V. As for rod, at the moment I'm looking at a 9 foot fast action 8 weight 4 piece or even 7 piece travel rod. Regards, Andy Lawson (UK) |

The large majority of people on this newsgroup are citizens of the USA, and are therefore prohibited by law from traveling to Cuba. Is that ****ed up, or what? Well.... I must say I was suprised when I heard that was the case. In fact, I read on the web somewhere about a month back, that US citizens can go to Cuba, just not send any money there! That did give me a little chuckle :o) -- Andy Lawson |
