funny you should mention that, richard. actually, as i posted
earlier, i don't drink vodka anymore. about three weeks ago, i
contracted a *serious* upper respiratory infection that landed me
(long story short) in the hospital, briefly. i was so sick i didn't
even want a drink for several days. when i began to feel better, i
began to want a drink. went to the fridge for my stoli, rolled up a
stiffie, and essayed my first swallow. i damn near threw up.
couldn't drink the stuff. i was near panic, until i remembered the
bottle of scotch i keep for guests. one dewars and a touch of water
later, and i was off and running.
since then, i have been on a search for a preferred "everyday"
scotch. i have decided on a very inexpensive highland single malt
from macclelland's. but for special occasions and just for variance,
i have also purchased a supply of balvenie, chivas regal, and isle of
jura. all of different taste, etc, but all good.
i know and appreciate your unending desire for accuracy in your
communications, and i am certain that you will address me in the
future as a "... drinking troll."

I knew JFK. I voted for him in 1960. Obama is NOT a JFK.

The first thing JFK did when he got in the WH was to give us a very
good tax cut. Then he gave the military a nice pay increase. Obama
ain't gonna do that. JFK was also aware of those who would do us
harm. Obama doesn't care. He believes he can "talk" to our enemies.

Hm.......

Yeah, now I think about it, another JFKesque president sounds like a pretty
good idea.

Ah...

My condolences on both your illness and, er, loss and my apologies for
the mislabeling...allow me to correct that mistake:

...as my hoped for image of the clintons back

Ya Goddamned Scotch-drinking troll...

IAC, it's interesting and coincidental your mention of a change of taste
after an illness. Did they anesthetize you? The reason I ask is that
over the holidays a friend who now doesn't eat meat related the story of
how she lost her taste (actual "taste" rather than any change in
"desire" to eat it - IOW, it actually tastes "bad" to her rather than
any change in personal feelings about eating it) for it after being put
under for surgery. She works (in administration, not medicine) at a
hospital and an anesthesiologist she asked there said such drastic
changes in "tastebuds" happen on occasion after such. Granted, one
admin person asking one med person isn't exactly concrete proof, but...

As to your choices, I've heard nothing but good things about the
MacClelland's and picked a selection up while in Texas, but haven't
tried any of it yet. But as to the Chivas, try some Johnny Walker Black
or Blue, and you'll see the Chivas as God intended: for use as charcoal
starter or helping one forget he's the too-useless-to-shoot Kennedy
brother...

Coincidentally, I just had to "re-train" my voice recognition

advance the ideals therein.

Sadly typical of dem promises. All talk, no walk. But JFK was great at
escalating war, sabre-rattling, personal corruption, nepotism.

His claims were the space program and civil rights. Both were actually
a product of the Eisenhower administration.
