Classic Davey: if someone doesn't agree with your view, or your mindless
support of an administration and political party thereof that has run this
country into an abyss, call them less patriotic then you.

Well, turnabout is fair play: from years of reading your incredibly
self-entitled poasts here, the truth has always been quite apparent, you love
money far more than you love your country. And you always will.

As for "depression": Puhleaze. You're the only person here who proclaimed the

Lemme guess - yet another innertube model...? Yes, Obama's win is
figuring into the market - it is not the sole cause - but it won't
continue to do until January. And what he might do in 60 days won't
effect the market as it is going today.

Its interesting that the critique by Republican insiders on how the
election was lost by the McCain team is coming out. This morning first
campaign chief Weaver, echoes the choir which is blaming the dark side
stuff, the Ayers stuff, the "Hussein" and "he's a secret Muslim stuff,
the "he's a socialist" stuff, the "he is anti Israel" stuff and the
"he's not a citizen" stuff. They are saying that this low-brow crap
drove moderates and independents into the Obama camp in critical
formerly "red states" like Virginia and Florida and Ohio. People got
tired of the "swift-boat" mentality, and the ugly racist rumor
mongering and it finally caught up with the GOP.

Interesting also is the fact that Republicans who had good performance
records in State offices and did not take the poop chute road, mostly
survived the Democrat sweeps. In Washington State we re-elected a very
competent Republican Attorney General and a Louie Governor (who
handles voting systems here) who ran highroad campaigns. (Yes, I do
still vote for competent Republicans when they have done a good job.)

They are saying that the main mistake was not playing up McCain's
strong suit: his graciousness, his former progressive stance on how to
solve the immigration problem, his "calm hand on the tiller" stuff,
his real differences with the Bushies. ie letting McCain be McCain.

It is ironic that some of the phony crap so favored by McCain's
supporters on ROFF, is now seen as having fatally wounding his
campaign. Good going guys. Keep listening to Butthead (Drug Addict)
Rush Limberg, fill your heads with neo-fascist ideology and maybe you
can drive all the reasonable people out of the Republican Party.

You *are* and blue and red person, Dave. Face it. Most people are
red, white, and blue. Nothing patriotic about it. You have faced off
- your side against the other side. There will always be a division,
a discord between you and whomever disagrees with your politics. It
is the way you are. You have shown your depression, your hate for
everything that has happened in the past 8 years.

Well, turnabout is fair play: from years of reading your incredibly
self-entitled poasts here, the truth has always been quite apparent, you love
money far more than you love your country. And you always will.

Yeah, that's why I'm giving money away like it is going out of style.
You do not know me, Dave. Don't even *think* you know me. I have no
love for my money, but I do dislike cheap skates like you. The cheap
*******s of the world like you are one of the things that is wrong
with our society.

As for "depression": Puhleaze. You're the only person here who proclaimed the
need to make a dramatic life change in response to a political outcome...

I have no "need" for a "dramatic life change". Joanne had agreed to
retire if Obama won. I have been after her for three years (ever
since she became eligible) to retire. It was a tool to *get* her to
retire. It will be a change that we both wanted three years ago, but
one she was not ready for. She now is. Stop reading things into what
I say, Dave.

But you, otoh, were so depressed for the past 8 years, it showed in
your posts. Hardly anything about fishing. Few, if any, trip
reports. But post after post after post on anti-bush crap. You were
clinically depressed, Dave. You were not happy. The only joy you had
was when Bush had another ****-up. Then you beamed like a little sun,
only to go dim after a post or two. Go back and look at your
anti-Bush rants. You were ill.

Glad you are better. I mean that. I am not nor could I ever be your
friend, Dave, but I wish you no ill will. Again, congrats on Obama's
win.

There's profit in it for Obama.

To be sure, many of these attitudes were pre-existing conditions; but
it is imho a disturbingly dark spot on the media and those who profit
from it that so much effort was spent in tearing down candidates and
their supporters and so little on an unbiased examination of the
issues.

It's not the media's fault, it's the citizen's fault. Nothing is
Bush's fault either. Everything bad that's happened to this country
is ultimately the responsibility and fault of the citizenship. I
don't mean that completely literally - I'm not trying to be
controversial by saying we brought 9/11 on ourselves. (Having said
that, Bush has created a very bad situation for us in the world.)

I laugh every time I hear someone complain about bad service, and then
buy their products from Best Buy because it has the lowest price. And
I laugh every time I hear someone complain about politicians, and then
vote based on how the politicians play the game and how the media
paints the pictures.

The National Enquirer exists for a reason.

I surely know that many here and in real life disagree with me; but
last night was a great moment for this country. It could, if the
lessons are learned, show us a new way forward in the way we interact
with each other politically, socially, and personally.

Well, I hope so.

Yeah, there are a lot of people trying to make a buck or two in the

I don't think I'm all that clever in the market, but playing the ultra
shorts since since the end of September has worked out.

Well be careful. I hope you are not depending on the stock market for
your retirement income. I would also hope you are putting your money
on the USA and not betting on her demise. And I would make sure I was
not putting my money into hollowed-out companies that are just US
marketing and distribution arms of Red Chinese companies controlled by
the Communist Party.

I agree that there are too many of those companies popping up. A friend
of mine got screwed by one of them trying to set up distribution
channels for automatic teller machines.

From a technical trading perspective, if the current wedge pattern from
today holds, the DJIA is moving toward 5500, S&P500 is heading down to
500. The market is pricing in a depression.

There doesn't seem to be confidence in either the current or incoming
administration to turn around this economy.

That spells money market or cash equivalents.
