Class? Gramm? You would be leaving out the parts about he and his wife
being up to their greedy chiny chin chins in ENRON, right? Gramm wrote
the notorious "ENRON Loophole," and his wife made mucho moola as a
board member. Remember? And that one he pulled trying to make it legal
to sell what ever Saddam wanted to buy, literally weeks before Iraq
invaded Kuwait, right? Gramm helped set the new lower bar for venality
and selling out America during his disgusting career. He was great at
sucking fat cat hind tit, I will give him that.

Well, Sgt. Duck, suffice say that I won't, um, rabidly disagree (nor will I
agree) but I will remind you that he resigned his seat, which created the need
for a special election, and then ran in that election - IOW, he gave a little
more than lip service to the idea of gettin' what one, um, paid for..

Give even a dog his due - he handled that, even if nothing else, generally as
the "American ideal" would dictate.

And if I were going to disagree, I'd point out that good ol' Elmer "Phil" Fuddup
didn't do it or much of anything else alone or without bi-partisan support...

let 'em try. It will have laughable results. The GOP has **** on that man
for years, by the way, so your assessment of his switch as less than classy
is WAY off track. I mean personal snubs, political snubs, you name it.

full well how restrained and classy his departure truly was. That guy had to
be biting his tongue and restraining his thoughts in every public appearance

Oh, please, what's next - Tom Brady complaining about how those mean ol' guys

Remember that he today does the nut-kicking is likely to get his own cut in the
next round-up...

At the end of the day, this is Specter looking out for Specter. That, in and of
itself, is nothing particularly new, unusual, or wrong, but as someone said,
"payback is a bitch..."

....and I'd remind that each party has, according to pundits, gasped its last
about 1256 times...and that's just this month...my guess would be that until one
party or the other advocates mandatory abortion (or makes it a double-secret
capital offense), advocates banning all guns (or makes machine gun possession
for violent felons mandatory), makes heroin legal (or makes even alcohol
illegal), and/or suggests that nationalizing all industry (or making saying the
word "union" an offense) is the key plank of their platform, neither party is
currently in real danger of "fading away"...the GOP was dead after Tricky Dick,
the Dems were dead after Carter, etc., etc. and yet, Reagan, Clinton, Bush,
Bush, Obama, et al...both are like cockroachs, and even a nuk-u-ler Iran ain't
gonna get rid of either...
