Fishing in Central Park
The wife wants to spend a romantic day the Park. Should I bring the
4wt along? If so, where are some good spots? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks. I've flyfished both the water around 79th street, where they rent the rowboats, and the Harlem Meer. Caught small bass in both places. Generally worked the southwest shores of each body of water, with good results. It's about what you'd expect: more novelty than for actual quality fishing. But then again, I'm not a big fan of still water fly fishing, regardless of the location... Tim |

The article covered the Harlem Meer and finished with Striper fishing in the East River, IIRC. The author, a regular on the Hudson, claimed to have seen corpses floating by. Definitely a new definition of combat fishing. |

Fishing in Central Park
No chance this was just a joke to begin with?
What difference does THAT make ? Well, if it was, you got sucked in AGAIN! Ok, ok, I admit it, I was kidding around about fishing in Central Park. Although, after looking at a few websites, I may consider giving it a shot someday. I'd say my presentation was perfect. It took Ken less than 10 minutes to swallow that one. By the way Ken, the pictures of my friends newborn son in the fishing vest came out great. |

On a trip from UK we spent a Sunday morning in Central Park. A competent caster was fishing - did not see any takes. Simple statistics show that people fly-fish in Central Park every day of the year Gordon |
