Your not wrong about that luck factor, especially when they shut down. I
havw pitched to shorelines and laydowns and got nothing but put it 6 inchs further back or to the left or right and wham!!! fish on.. sometimes you have to bonk them on the head "Craig Baugher" wrote in message ... "go-bassn wrote in message: Pressure bothers you? I love pressure. My favorite time to be fishing is in a really tough tournament. Anyone can catch fish when they're biting, the trick is to catch em when they're not biting." I totally agree. Learning how to provoke a reactionary strike when the bite is off is very cool. But so is knowing where and how to always find some active fish is even better. Now, all I have to do is learn how ;-) Which is the same problem 99.5% of all anglers face. They say that at any time only 10% of the all the water in a lake is right to support life. Now, that is a lot of dead (unproductive) water. Further compound that with poor conditions, and we as anglers are faced with only about 1% of all the water in a lake being right to support activity (just a personal theory). Talk about finding a needle in a hay stack I say the word LUCK goes along with the SKILL at that point. For in a pro tournament you have a lot very talented and skilled anglers who know where the most active fish SHOULD BE, so the deciding factor - LUCK or being LUCKY. -- Craig Baugher Sales Professional - Village Ford (734) 565-5786 (800) 257-1478 Toll-Free |

I'm guiding today, 39 degrees for a high, with 25-30 mph winds and rain mixed with snow. Steve, if you fished last Saturday you are a tougher man than me. I was going out to the mail box and asked my son to come along. It's a 10 to 15 minute hike through the woods and I thought we might shoot a grouse or two. When we got outside he looked at me and said forget the hunting, let's take the truck. I can't imagine being in a boat in those winds and temperature plus the snow. |
