Oh admit it Myron, you're rooting for Boston because it's TRENDY thing
to do. ;)

And I have been even when it was out of style!

We've already gotten together and decided: The Sox will give the (insert
minor league team name here) a three game advantage. Then, in a
miraculous 4-game stride, including several extra inning games, will
snatch away the assured Series victory. Hey, don't screw with a
successful formula, says I.

So, you're giving the election to Kerry? (i.e. GO BOSTON)

Personally, I'm rooting for whatever team will finish the games without
extra innings, allowing my beautiful bride to get to bed before friggin

God I hope the Cardinals win. It was a pleasant diversion from the
campaign to watch the ALCS games. If its a Houston/Boston series the
political allegories will pile up thigh deep.

Strangely enough, I am most definately not from Boston; I hail from
north-central Maine, a place where Boston is looked upon with the same sense
of distrust and disregard as true Brahmins look upon New Yock. But
nonetheless, not having our own professional baseball team, we are willing
to overlook Boston's shortcomings and root for their team in earnest.
Probably because they were generous enough to share their football team with
us.

(I never really understood how such a wicked place could have such a
pure-hearted baseball team. Or have produced Carl Yastrzempski.)
