In article , says...
Hm.......

Coincidence? :(

MILLER: A lot of people don't realize what's going on. They view
life as a bunch of unconnected incidents and things. They don't realize
that there's this like, lattice of coincidence that lays on top of
everything. I'll give you an example. Show you what I mean. Suppose
you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly, somebody'll say like,
plate, or shrimp, or plate of shrimp. Out of the blue. No explanation.
No point looking for one either. It's all part of the cosmic
unconsciousness.

OTTO: Did you do a lot of acid, Miller? Back in the hippie days?

Well, there's the difference between Kevin and me. As he said, he

doesn't
make this **** up. :)

The mean difference?

Actually I think that the Error of the Mean would be a more descriptive
metric.

Yeah, some is meaner than others.

What do you mean?

vince

Regression to the mean. Some think it's SAD, but it happens whenever

the
communal opprobrium is unenforceable by physical means.

Wolfgang

You mean your mean is mean? Is that meaningful?

TL
MC

Actually it means I think he oscillates between linear regression and
Analysis of Variance in a sadly predictable fashion. Its a problem endemic
to bio stat environments. No money less'in its 5%+ "better?"

Well. Gosh.

who knows that if you don't applaud their efforts (however meager) from time
to time, they grow up to be sociopaths.

Once you hear the solution it's so obvious. In the hope that
it isn't already too late please allow me to applaud your
efforts.
