Chuck Vance (unhooking them is a bitch)

I was taught to shoot to stun them. That way you can get them to help you
peddle your bike back down the mountain.

Wouldn't work out - its legs are way too short to reach the petals. I
think you'll find it easier just to swat 'em on the nose with rolled-up
newspaper...and this method not only works on Golfwangs, but Shedeckers,
too...yeah, I know what you're thinking, but just because they call them
"petal pushers" doesn't mean the American Toy Shedecker can actually do
much petal pushing...

HTH,
Eleven-and-a-half-eagles............dick

Should have recognized that short stature was a factor here.
Are you suggesting that a priest should be inserted in the newspaper?
McManus would be so disappointed to not have help and acceleration getting
down the mountain.

Hmmm ... I never thought of trying to get them to *eat* the fly.
I've been trying to hit them with mine.

It's just a backup......in case the shot misses.*

So is this where we're supposed to start a debate over C&R vs. C&K?

This is where I came in - a few years ago when T-Bone was around.
......that was some thread:-)

I still don't understand most of what you say except the bits Wayno
translates for me.

What the hell is a gator???

Hm.....

I just searched all of the recent threads and found no other reference to a
gator by either Chuck or me. Judging by the position of your post in the
hierarchical layout on my server, it looks like you were addressing your
question to him. On the other hand, I've always found Chuck to be eminently
lucid......I can think of no reason that you should have any trouble
understanding him. Furthermore, Wayno has occasionally shown himself to be
very generous (as well as eerily adept) in translating my admittedly
sometimes oblique offerings.

With all that in mind......and Tim's perfectly correct (if not exactly
exhaustive) pointer notwithstanding, I offer the following:

Gator is, first and foremost, an abbreviated form of alligator.

A Gator is also anyone attending a particular university (I forget which
one) in Florida, whose mascot is an alligator and, more particularly, any
athlete on one or another of the school's athletic teams.

By an odd sort of symmetry, a Gator is also ROFF's own uncle Wally who not
only shares a name with the illustrious character with whom, by virtue of
Tim's timely intervention, you are already familiar, but also reputedly
spent......or, misspent, to be more precise......a number of what should
have been his formative years in the above mentioned state of Florida.

None of the above should be confused with a gaiter which is another sort of
critter altogether and which, though it might prove to be of some use
(depending on material and construction) against other, lesser (in terms of
sheer mass, if not necessarily toxicity) reptilians, wouldn't be worth squat
in an encounter with a gator of the first sort mentioned above.

Clear? :)

Flatterer.

Ooops, sorry ... wrong thread.

You forgot the cattle; gaiters should do just fine when confronted
with their "offerings".

saying "bull****"?)
