Hi Jeremy, You really can't go by what I've built for my grandkids, because I'm totally nuts. I'll probably have a hundred dollars in this little rod! But there certainly is no reason why it can't be built a whole lot cheaper, it's just that I have a tendency to go overboard a bit.
