Yeah, there goes his run for President. Doesn't matter. I don't think he ever had a clear shot at it. You guys are pretty naive about what "politics" means. It's not just about running for office. Cheney has another 2 1/2 years as VP, and since he's the one who really runs things in the "Bush" administration that's a big deal. No, no. "clear shot"...get it? :-( --riverman |

Cheney will finish his time as VP, retire from public service with one hell of a nice retirement, and go fishing/hunting where ever, when ever he feels the need. Meanwhile you will continue your pittiful life as a ersatz cowboy on Brokeback Mountain. You're already finished. d;o) Still top posting I see. d;o) Thanks for the phone call. Meanwhile you will continue your pittiful life as a ersatz cowboy on Brokeback Mountain. You're already finished. d;o) I for one am getting a kick out of your take on politics. By any standard the Rs have shown that they are clueless when it comes to managing money, can't seem to manage their way out of a paper bag when it comes to any government service, and have long ago lost touch with true conservatism. But you just keep saying the same old stuff. Like its all on your back to defend these people and the only stuff you got is some outdated bar talk. The EverReady rabbit comes to mind. Just stop befor you start making up stuff like that Max Cleland business. OK? At least one thing Cheney will not be doing in retirement: Passing thru any European airports where he might be held for war crimes. My prediction: he will become as afraid of leaving the country as Kissenger is now, and he will be hunted like Pinochet. My own hope is that he is put on trial for his illegal dealings with Libya, when he was a Halliburton exec., or perhaps for his involvement in the death squads in the upper Amazonian oil patch. I think Bush is real ****ed at him now but my guess is that Bush will pardon Cheney in the last week of his reign, for disclosing national secrets, and harboring Israeli espionage agents. "Ken Fortenberry" wrote in message om... This hunting incident may not damage Cheney himself, he was headed for retirement in 2009 in any case, but it will hurt the Republican party. Joe Sixpack will tolerate a lot, **** on the Constitution, lie to Congress, torture and kill a few towel heads, who cares. But Joe Sixpack knows that shooting your hunting companion in the face is, at best, careless stupidity and if he himself had done it he'd be talkin' to the sheriff forthwith and not the next day. Joe Sixpack *hates* rich *******s who think they're above the law. This will resonate in a negative way at least through the 2006 elections even if Cheney does manage to remain in office. -- Ken Fortenberry I don't know about your "Joe Sixpack," but sown here in the heart of the Southern Baptists, "Joe Sixpack," is standing strong with the Sureshot Dick. The only questions they have, is why the liberal media is making such a big deal of this? Op |

Hillary has too much baggage also, but I hope she runs. You have TRUE Democrats in your party, but yet they stay covered and let the socialists like Kennedy, Kerry, et al have all the say. Do you really approve of Dr. Dean as the head of the party? If you do, you suffer from the same illusions as he does. I used to be a Dem, Dave. Grew up in an FDR household and voted for Kennedy in 60. But I can't be a Dem today - not with the likes of those listed above. Bush and Cheney have warts and open sores, but the folks you put up against them had rotting flesh. Get a good candidate and perhaps I'd vote for him/her. On a more friendly note: How are you doing? Any complications? Dave |
