"Ken Blevins" wrote in message ... I'm green with pure old envy- It's 24 degrees here [KY] and has been snowing since noon .I hate winter Heard that. And we will occasionally get some snow here during winter, but most years, we can fish 300 days if we want to. You may have to bundle up a little on some of those days, but they're fishable otherwise. "SimRacer" wrote in message ... "Bob La Londe" wrote in message .. . What do you do as the weather gets too cold to fish? Have you already respooled all your rods? Repaired all your damaged equipment? fogged and stored your boat? I'm lucky, I get to fish year round if I so choose. Warm(er) days during December-January here (central NC) can find lake fish biting anywhere from brush piles on deep flats to up near the bank near or on submerged creek beds - especially near where creeks or other runoff waters come into the lake, and often create a small warm water discharge area. And from the beginning of December through January, we can head out to the coast and hit the striped bass that run along most of our coast during that time. Usually we go up to Oregon Inlet (North of Cape Hatteras) to put in and we'll fish from Cape Hatteras to the South all the way up to near the VA line above Kitty Hawk and Corolla to the North. And of course, February is nearly the best month around these parts to find "big" bass. As big as bass as we can get here in NC with the lack of Florida strain fish anyway... -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Dang man,,, I was making a "JOKE" did you not see the :-) ? Rodney I think I have voiced similar criticizm to you myself. I have always given your ideas a fair shake, and I have gone out and seriously tested the samples you have sent me in the past. I like the Standout Hook (and also wish it had a longer shank), I don't care for the bungee rig, and the Mojo weight is as good as any other dropshot weight and there are a few circumstances where it might be better. I also think that you get worked up and upset too easy. I respect that you are always thinking and that you have the will to gamble on your own ideas, but I also think you get upset when you should take criticizm and adjust. Then again I think most independent business owners and inventors are a little high strung. I know I have seen Bob go off on a rant once or twice too. I certainly have. Don't even get me started on guys who just want a paycheck, but don't want to work or even learn how to work. lol. P.S. I'm still waiting on my sample bug repellant. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Warren to try the StandOut , Hell, I will send him all he wants for free I appreciate that Rodney, I really do. I can see your hook being a valuable asset to an entry-level dropshotter that might have a hard time tying a proper polamar knot. But that's where it ends for me. A dropshot rig in its purest (& most effective) form is a tiny, no-frills hook & a finesse-type bait. Sure, some people "bubba-up" their dropdhot rigs with heavy line, sinkers & bigger hooks & baits, but even these rigs only need use a standard shaped hook. I'm partial to the "octopus" style myself. I tie flies till the lakes have enough ice to walk on, then I go punch holes, drop my Aqua View and sit on a bucket all day. It gets a little frosty, but the crappie and blue gills I pull through the ice are so good....(Catch and release into hot grease.) Then there are a few fishing shows to attend followed by the new Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops catalogs. I fix my tackle when the ice is starting to break up and do it all at once. I usually try to make a trip to the Northfork River in late February or early March and by the time I get back, I can launch the boat. Mark |

Warren Actually prefer a j-hook style worm hook and I use a Trilene knot. Its a little awkward to tie with that long tag end, but when I flip tag around and drop it thrugh the eye its real easy to make that hook stick out. I like to t-rig my dropshot worms since I am usually d-shotting in grass beds rather than over rocky bottoms. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
