Hmmm............well first of all, you donīt know whether it has
anything to do with me or not. Secondly, Dickie boy is being extremely
obnoxious to two people I consider friends. Thirdly, for Dickie boy to
come out with drivel like this is quite typical, as all he is ever
generous with is abuse, and invariably gratuitous to boot. Fourthly,
if nobody protests he will fondly imagine that people either agree
with him or donīt care, and fifthly, why donīt you give your own
opinion on the matter at issue, instead of giving your opinion on my
opinion? Lastly, I really donīt care much what various dumbos and
idiots think of me, but I would like to think that sensible people
still hold me for an honest man.

That does not seem to be the case. I have seen a lot of mean and
nasty things on this group, and this is one of them. I wish you a lot
of luck.

Bye bye Mr.Weinberger.

MC

First of all the post was neither adressed to nor mentioned you.
Your second, third and fourth rationalizations are simply that - your
rationalizations in an attempt to justify why it it is proper for you to
violate your own code of right and wrong simply because the target of your
vituperations has violated your standards. Fifthly, I did not voice any
opinion of your opinion. I simply pointed out but the latest incidence of
you violating your self proclaimed code of conduct.

You ask for my opinion of the matter at hand - It is my opinion that how
people choose to give their money (or fly tying time) away is essentialy
none of my (or for that matter R Dean's) business. However, althouogh his
post was in typically outrageous R Dean form, I can understand how, if he is
passionate about the plight of starving & diseased kids relative to that of
ultra rich kids, he might so respond in such a manner.

Lastly, I like to consider myself as sensible, and other than possibly
yourself, I do not know anyone who doesn't attribute that characteristic to
me - regardless of any other faults they may find with me. However, my
continued participation is these threads, responding to someone who is
mentally imbalanced and paranoid enough that they see everyone as either for
or against them and even the slightest dig at them as a mean attack,
strongly brings that assessment into question.

Any questions?

yeah, one question

Even though I applaud Myron's effort to teach about the natural world via
hands on methods, I would never send obviously well off kids charity flies.

I, thus, agree with your very poorly stated sentiment.

However, I do wonder if you have ever heard this ????

"Profanity is the strong expression of a weak mind"

If you wanted to make a point about giving to more appropriate causes, YOU
destroyed the value of that point by your nasty, thoughtless, spewing. If
I represented St. Jude's or Medecins Sans Frontieres I'd regret the stigma
of having the organization(s) mentioned in such a context.

indeed,

you consistently do yourself and your thoughts a disservice by instantly
leaping to the use of extreme expletives and/ or insults.

Of course all of the handful of ROFFian AbUseNet Club members do the same
.... Club Rules??

Um, ..... maybe that is why I often wonder if the 3 or 4 of you are all
actually just one very, very, sick person's multiple, festering,
personalities.

One suspects the that author of this quote (as well as its adherents) would
be less than thrilled with what we may safely assume Mr. Clemens' response
would have been.

Wolfgang
who has never yet encountered a pithy quote for which he would exchange his
brain.

How about "What hump?" (Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein). That's one
of my faves.

FWIW ( probably not much ) I am a dog trainer, a profession that tends to
highly respect artful use of profanity. I can put together some pretty
impressive strings of it, if I do say so myself.

I don't think such language should be entirely avoided, rather I think it's
real value is undermined by it's overuse .... much like the use of single
word insults, any real impact lies in the rarity of usage, not in the
predictability.

I'd trade A. B. Normal's brain for that one.

You say "tomato," I say "potato."

I was surprised to hear "Young Frankenstein" is opening on Broadway tonight,
btw. Can't imagine it as a musical; but The Producers worked, and MP's
Spamelot was great.
