That's sounds like a plan. I wish that we had spent some more time together. I did enjoy the ritual fireside discussion, your coffee on several occasions, and your generosity with a nice meal or two during the week. Thank You, Thank You, Thaaaaaaaank Yooouu. You're most welcome! Let me know if you make it out my way (Philly) or hopefully will see ya at the Penn's Clave next year?? The Mighty Finn - Mike I'll try to make it. Danl |

I enjoyed fishing with you at the Mayhem on the Madison II, Mike. You're
a stone cold killer (catcher) with those stonefly nymphs. :-) -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

Ditto, will cross paths again, hopefully soon. I assume you don't get out
this way much, but my door is always open if you do. The PA Clave is a good one too, if you dare.. "rw" wrote in message m... I enjoyed fishing with you at the Mayhem on the Madison II, Mike. Yeah the side channel looked nice, but we also got snubbed by someone who claimed it was the stretch for Slide Inn guests... We moved on and I can get that kind of treatment on the stocked creeks in the area on open day, anytime, so I can't say that I agree that it was the best spot, at least during the Clave week. I wouldn't say it was the best spot either, but it looked good. The area at the head of the island looked nicer, and evidently the "natives" think so too, as they immediately headed for that stretch. The only other people I ran into that seemed rather rude and discourteous were in the same area, above Raynolds Bridge. They would creek hop anyone in their way. I have to thank them really though because due to them, they chased me far enough upstream to run into that Island where I had such great luck bank fishing an Island with a family of Browns. Was that the area right behind the Inn? (Or maybe it was just upstream of the Inn, I can't remember now.) I remember driving past that stretch and thinking that it looked promising. IIRC, there was a side channel and a couple of decent-sized islands where the river braided its way through that run. Fast water, but the side channel (on the near bank) looked pretty calm. Chuck Vance Chuck, really it all looked nice and full of fish, you just had to contend with the crowds. I think if you hit all of the water, you were bound to get a few nice fish, and maybe a bonus, or two, or more. I think the braids help give the fish some of the first good cover below Quake Lake, so the fish are there if you can figure out how to get to them. It's a stretch I will always be sure to take in when I'm in the area. Mike |
