The cause of orange or pink flesh in trout, is due to the substance known as carotin. It is quite immaterial whether this is the result of a natural diet ( Shrimp and crustacean carapaces, or exoskeletons), or the direct addition of such colouring matter in the food pellets. The flesh itself may well taste differently as a result of the diet, but this is not dependent on the colour. TL MC |
