Dammit, I swore I wasn't gonna do this. But my dander's up again.

Eleven states just voted to deny entry into the institution of
marriage to US Citizens based solely on their sexual orientation, and
YOU think GAYS have an "agenda"?

What would that be, exactly? Are they guilty of trying to "secure the
blessings of liberty to themselves..."? Damn that constitution.

As a devout and practicing heterosexual, I can't begin to understand
why it's any of my business whatsoever - or the business of the
government - what two or more consenting adults do in the privacy of
their own homes and relationships.

Heterosexuals have managed to make a complete mockery and debacle of
the institution of marriage: I've never seen it demonstrated that
homosexuals could possibly do worse.

But if two men or women love each other and want to get married and
share in the legal benefits, pitfalls, and sacrifice of "marital
bliss", and can find a willing church or justice of the peace, I say
"God Bless 'Em" and "God Help 'Em".

Well, I am not afraid as you put it.

Well, I think you're a liar.

I like my freedoms.

No, duh.

And infringing on my freedoms is not something I specifically cherish.

In that case, one might suggest that you refrain.

Considering my statement that I want the government removed from my life -
you and I both know that that is an impossibility in today's society.

Au contraire, mon frere, you can always eat a bullet.

I made the statement not to be taken literally as you did.

One might suggest that you make statements as you mean them to be taken.

I worked for the gov for years.

My hero.......sigh.

I do know the difference.

Between what and which?

Its just that I want them at arm's length.

Just how far did you reach for that paycheck?

I do pay taxes for certain services

Well now, THERE'S an interesting concept. I vote we ALL give that a try.
C'mon gang, whattya say?

and those, although are government entities, do not, in my opinion, have
to have their every finger on my pulse so-to-speak. You surely get my
drift.

Actually, no, let's try it again......in English this time.....o.k.?

I think the Patriot Act is too far reaching. There are already laws on the
books for most of the criminal and/or terrorist activities in the U.S. I
don't share the abundance of paranoia that I see in the GOP.

See, this is the part I hate.......just when you think you've got the
species pegged, along comes this little flash of human rationality.......and
ya gotta start all over again. O.k., I'm with ya.......go on.

As far as Social Security is concerned, I think I could have done a lot
better had I been able to invest those same monies in simple savings
accounts.

And, thus, you refuse to accept such ill-gotten gains, right? And in the
meantime, crafty devil that you are, you actually DID put an equal amount
into a simple savings account and thus you are able to retire early and live
a life of liesure, right?

But I have to pay into it whether I like it or not.

That's a fact, Jack!

Each paycheck I receive has a noted deduction for the upkeep of that
entitlement.

Another fact......and one that is a very ill kept secret

It used to have it's own fund and account. But it was raided by Congress
and put into the General Fund. So, I will collect "my share" someday, but
until then, I guess I'll have to put up with the tax that it is.

This is beginning to sound suspiciously like life as we know it. How
horrible, how tragic, that YOU of all people should have to live it while
the rest of us loll about in a soporific stupor, living off
of.....um......well, whatever it is.

BTW - do you think GW will be giving us another tax refund - I could use
another 600.00 dollar check just before Christmas!

Hell yes! Mortgage your grandchildren.......I don't give a ****......I
don't have any.

So, bottom line is that like so many others, you've been sucking on the
taxpayers tit for virtually all of your adult life (at least) and you don't
like government intruding on your proud, honorable, and self-sufficient
life...........that about it?

I don't think that they'll let Giuliani be their candidate. I know
he's ahead now in opinion surveys but I think the GOP trend is
hard-a-starboard yet. The fate of one Mary Panzer comes to mind here.
She was the GOP State Senate leader here in Wisconsin. Had been a
loyal Repub all her life. But she was pro-choice. The state Republican
party took her out. Actually funneled money to her anti-abortion
challenger (a Repub Assemblyman). And she wasn't the first moderate
Republican to have that happen to her. Another one of the state GOP
legislators (Johnserud) quit. He didn't make a big stink about it but
he told some of his constituents that he left because the state GOP
was too conservative for him. Was he forced out? Well, he wouldn't go
that far. This is the second big purge that the GOP has conducted here
in Wisconsin. The first was back in the 30s and 40s when they slowly
rid themselves of the Bullmoose style progressives.

Oh well. By fiddling with the questionaire I got my entrance score at
Canadian Immigration up to 55. Just need to get 12 more points and i'm

Dave-

Hopefully nonoffensively, I can point out that when Bush ran, he had a
record of failed businesses, a drunk driving arrest or two, a rich family
with heavy Saudi ties, family privilege that helped him avoid Vietnam by
almost meeting a National Guard commitment, no foreign policy experience,
and his biggest qualification was that he governed a state constitutionally
headed by a hands-off governor. Then on top of all that, I'll point out
that about half the population is largely unimpressed by his performance as
President and CIC, he deliberately trumped up faulty intelligence that
brought us to a war we're having problems finishing, he ignored
intelligence that might have prevented the deaths of 3,000 citizens, and he
ran up a record deficit (even without the two wars factored in) and put the
money into his buddys' collective pockets.

IMO, which is no more or less valid than YO, this is a train wreck that is
happening right now.

Pick a viable

(questionable VN service, questionable actions after VN which probably
lengthened the war, a Senator without a good record in Congress, a
billionaire wife who looks like Tootsie and can't keep her trashy
mouth shut, and the blunder of all blunders, picking Edwards as his
running mate). It was a train wreck waiting to happen.
