Double taper and weight forward are the same for the first 40 feet or so. It's after that where the weight forward line lightens up so you don't have too much weight loading your rod on longer casts. 40 feet of double taper and 40 feet of weight forward load your rod exactly the same (depending on where each are tapered.) |
