South Africa ? Bass fishing
Got hit on the head with a 3 pound striped mullet once on the Indian River
Lagoon near Melbourne, funny now but not at the time. Charles, how were the guys "targeting" tilapia? They're algae eaters as far as I know... Warren "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote in message ... "Charles Summers" wrote in message ... Apparently Lake Okeechobee was full of them. I'd never heard of Tallapia until we went down there, and people seemed to be targeting them alot. Didn't know about the protein thing... Funniest thing that I seen down there were the Jumping Fish... Those Mullet ROCKED! I laughed every time I saw those silly things come flying out of the water. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

I was fishing off the dock at the Wharf and had a tilapia grab a small green PowerWorm and spit it out before I could set the hook. So I guess they'll bite, but not readily. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

If I need a big sack of fish for a fish fry, just take the spear gun and
bowfishing rig to McQueeney and load up. It's a little grey color, but they eat good. Just don't go crazy on the little ones, harder to fillet. As far as the protien comment, I've read that several times, supposedly this is the fish that'll cure "world hunger" blah blah blah. I know on Falcon, they eat the heck out of them, and the average fish is just huge. A 19" bass will weigh 5 lbs. Why it takes a five fish stringer at least 30 lbs to win a tournament there.
