Well, not a _total_ misread. I thought the speech was pretty weak and
generally, another example of the Dems snatching defeat from what should
be the jaws of certain victory, but I did post a some bait, as well. The
last vestige of hope for at least one party to carry on a fairly
straightforward, honest (as modern campaigns go) campaign relatively
free of horse**** now appears totally snuffed well and truly out. Even
if Palin turns out to be a real diamond in the rough, her selection will
still be marred by the whole pandering aspect of it. Thus far, it
doesn't seem to have the sheer hypocrisy of Obama picking Biden, but
this thing is shaping up to be a real circus...

That's a boy. In spite of virtually unanimous acclaim - even all but the total
Kool-Aid heads from your side gave that speech major props - you just keep
bravely carrying on like you never actually heard it...

/daytripper (maybe that'll work for.....something or other)

It must suck to be you.

If you can't find it in your mean, small, cynical,
it's all about me, me, me, mindset to appreciate
the mind-boggling historic import of the nomination
of the first black man to lead the ticket of a major
party then you're too far gone.

I was born in 1956 and I never in a thousand years
thought that I would see this day.

That was a great speech and only a blind fool partisan
cynic could believe otherwise.

Jeez Ken I always thought you were THE old fart around here.

I was born in '54 and meet my "54" on Oct 14.

As a Canucklehead I would sure as hell vote for Obama 'cause Bush has
got to go.

Please don't think me insincere - I truly mean this: you obviously
have a much better understanding of US politics and law, and even the
world at large, than the vast majority of Obama supporters...

We're going to have our own election soon and at least I can put my
two cents worth in here.

Uh-oh...and you were doing so well...IAC, will that be two cents US or
Canadian?

We've gotta get rid of Harper because he's so far up Bush's ass our
country is about to end up like the US with minimum jail sentencing,
total revocation of rights etc.

Next thing you know we'll have to buy a piece of river to fish.

Yeah, what's up with that? It's the thin end of the wedge, I tell ya.
It'll lead to Disneyworld charging to ride ****, country clubs
charging not only dues but initiation fees, having to buy ski-lift
tickets, no more free boats from Boston Whaler or Hatteras (with
lifetime free fuel and maintenance), and the real horror of horrors,
the complete end of free food and lodging for all recreational
travelers...

I don't have much use for the Liberal Party up here but anything is
better than what's going on at this point.

Anything? Really? I mean, really, ANYTHING? You don't travel much,
do ya?

Tight lines to you and yours.

And good luck to you and yours.

Bruce

Ah, OK...so, presumably, by the use of "your side," you mean GASP
those on the right and/or Republicans, and you're acknowledging that
they know what they are talking about, knowledgeable, even experts. OK,
you've convinced me - those folks know what they are talking about - his
speech was da bomb, but McCain is the much better choice for POTUS...

I'll have the high-ups on my side inscribe your name in the books as a
McCain supporter who thinks Obama really isn't ready.

/daytripper (maybe that'll work for.....something or other)

I gotta tell ya, there's few things funnier this time of the season than
a guy who uses the term "Kool-Aid" and isn't referring to what his kids
wanna drink...it's always the, er, "blind and rabid partisan" "Kool-Aid
heads" who use such terms.

Cuter than you by far.

Oh, by the bi.

My wife calls be Brucie when I'm done .....

Never mind!

What the hell does any of this have to do with fly fishing?

Sorry, waht the hell was I thinking.

I better go over to the fly fishing group.

****!

Been there, done that.

Now I'm back here again.

Hows about a nice 10' Powell salmon rod with a 9wt 32" shooting head
matched with a double wind reel, 30 yds of Cortland running line followed
with 250 yds of braided dacron.

All run out nice with a 40lb spring in white water.

I built the rod.

I selected the gear.

I tied the flies.

I hooked and landed the fish.

And I'm not blowing smoke up anybodys kilts unlike yourself.

All I've ever heard from you is BS.

You act like a real Barney.

Lots of smoke and mirrors. F**k all for substance.

My granddad left me his rods and my sons have fished them and know that
they will hand them down to their own sons.

You got nothing asshole.

I love nailing trout in any number of streams, but there aint nothing
like diving off a cliff into white water to land that steely that just
won't stop running.

Even when it's wild and has to go back.

Or spending two days in a belly-boat chasing a big white spring down from
the Harrison to the mouth of the Fraser.

All you got is this crappy little group where only a few give a flying
f**k about fishing and you're the king Turd.

La-Dee-f**kin' da.

I seen pukes like you way back on the BBSs.

Always talking the big fight, but not worth a spit when push comes to
shove.

What the hell am I wasting my breath for.

Rest of you.

Tight lines.

Poor pathetic little wannabe.

Is that really the best you can do?

I won't even bother plonking you.

You're funnier than McCain's VP choice.

Talk about lame ducks.

Sorry.

Didn't meen to bring up your... you know. Shsssss

Where were we.

Oh yeah.

Delving into your lack of parental direction and bathroom etiquette.

I'm pretty sure that if you gave it the old team effort you could get
that floss around your tooth. One tooth shouldn't wear it out so much
that it wouldn't make a great leader for your Barney rod.

If it's still got a bit of wax on it you just might be able to float that
bent pin your mommy glued the feather to.

You remember, right?

The one that fell out of the pillow your grampa used to shut you up with
while he showed you the other use for your poop shute.

Sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh when I was doing your mamma whilst
watching your grampa doing you.

Almost grabbed up one of those feathers to tickle your mammas clit with
but she was worried about the old man's herpies.

Oh well. I'ld rather go fishing than f**k your mamma anyhow.

F**k you and anyone that looks like you!

Not to mention the horse you tried to ride in on.

Oh my.

The only thing stunning is how you totally slept through the speech of a
lifetime.

That's really too bad for you - but I'm certain you'll be able to see it on
the web - including at least a few minutes citing MLK.

Dumbass.

/daytripper

It was a good speech but "speech of a lifetime?" Maybe Kennedy's `80
or Humphrey's `48....

Kerry's the night before was good.

sheesh, where did that boy come from? It's always refreshing, after getting
miffed at the stupid **** that we all regularly post here, to realize it
gets worse out there.....
much worse.

Tom
p.s. Chester A. Arthur probably never had so much good
press as he's gotten around these parts of late.
