That's what war is about. Those that serve know that it is a possibility. The
war will last for several more years, btw, so get used to it. We didn't start
it.

Recent poll shows 59% approval rating for Bush, and 66% approval of the war.
The poll also showed 12% of America is "angry" with Bush. You and some fellow
roffers make up that 12%. d;o) Gore lost, get over it.

Well good. The objective has not yet been met, has it? Um.....I
forget, just how many American dead will it take for you to get it up?

We didn't start it.

Well, if "we" is ROFF, then I'll have to agree. But, your boy Bush
most certainly did. Unfortunately for you, he didn't do it for the
reasons you had in mind.....you see, he doesn't care how many people
get killed. On the other hand, you may rest assured that the body
count will rise higher......everybody wins! :)

Well then, he's got a ways to go before he matches Hitler in his third
year.

Gore lost, get over it.

So, I'm curious....just what is it about Gore that makes keeping him
out of office worth a few tens of thousands of mutliated corpses?

Safe? I don't think so. You're going to die. Speaking of
which.....several more years huh? And those grandsons
are......um......how old? Ought to be ripe for picking before it's
over, eh? :)

Sure you are, that's why "Homeland Security" has the country on
"Almost Super-Duper Alert" and the nation's airports, train stations,
nuke plants, dams and harbors are teeming with guys in bullet-proof
vests carrying automatic weapons and getting paid time-and-a-half.

And if your Coward in Chief had done something about terrorism when he had the
reins, we'd be in even better shape.

We're an open society, difficult to defend. I expect another terrorist hit -
if not now, sometime in the future. It's part of this war.

This is really a no win situation for the administration. If they issue an
alert and nothing happens, then the Bush haters will make statements like the
one above. If there should be an attack, and no warning was given, then the
message would be ,"They knew all along, and nobody warned us."

Funny thing is, it seems like 55% to 60% of the country approve of the way the
administration is handling the situation.

Why is that a funny thing? And what does it tell us about reality?

Of course, if this or any other administration decides to ignore threats,
then the very people criticizing the alert status will fall all over their
selves to complain that nothing was done to prevent terrorist attacks.

How convenient to sit back and attack both prevention and lack of
prevention. Either way it evolves, you get the satisfaction of complaining
but, hopefully, never get personally involved. Do you think those people
manning security posts and patrolling the harbors work for nothing? Maybe
they'd rather be home with their families or doing something else they
enjoy. They wear those bullet-resistant vests for a reason. They don't
want to have to use those weapons. They know that if they do something has
gone horridly wrong. They also know that some of their own countrymen will
demonstrate their lack of knowledge and experience by attacking and damning
them for doing what was necessary.

How wonderful to live in a land that guarantees freedom of speech. And how
pitiable those who demand it but refuse to pay for it.

The question is, are we safe now with that smirking chimp of a
chief executive, Commander AWOL, doing his damnedest to be the
best recruiter in the history of Al Qaeda, or would we be better
off if we had an adult in charge for a change ? An adult who
would build international consensus instead of resented hegemony,
an adult who would work within the constraints of international
laws and not flout them, an adult who would tell the American
people the truth instead of outrageous lies.

Funny thing is, it seems like 55% to 60% of the country approve of the way the

That's FUNNY to you ? How sad.
