salmon eggs, either.

Bet cats will if them salmon eggs (real or phony) get soaked in sun-baked 7
day old chicken entrails g
No matter how hard I ever tried, I just couldn't bear to try it myself -
LOL. I gotta take somebody's word. Phew!!!

Good luck!

Sorry to dissapoint Paul, but I have caught trout on a Psychedelic spider, and
so far I have not caught a catfish on one of them. Perhaps later in the year
when they are spawning.

I was thinking that it could be *slightly* modified (trim down the legs
a little) to make one hell of an interesting beetle pattern. It would
definitely be more visible.

Please feel free to trim down the legs, or anything else you want to do to the
fly. The only reason that they are as long as they are is that I like fishing
it on bedding bluegills and when they quit taking the flies on the surface,
sometimes I like to watch them playing with it by grabbing onto a leg and
towing it around for a while. I havre a lot of fun watching them do this and
often find mself giggling just from watching them. The other thing I do that is
out of proportion is tying a big red head on the fly. The bluegill around here
seem to like some red on their bugs, so I always tie them with big red heads.
Change it any way you want...it will still be just another version of Jack
Gartside's gurgler. I wish I were as creative as Jack is, but I am not.

Perhaps because I just live the other side of the beltway from Joe my
VCR box was awaiting me in the box when I got home today. After pawing
through the bunch I have to apologize since given the wonderful
contents I'm sure I underwhelmed a lot of people with my effort. In
particular the fabric wingwinged Caddis is really eye catching.

Joe, thanks for the effort to do this, it's really a nice collection
and I'll take them to the office tommorrow for Frank R. to paw over.

Postman came crawling to my door also!
Nice piece of work all!
Special thanks to Joe for the dirty work. I've sent a little present on
behalve of me and my brothers from "the rest of the world" for taking the
shippingcosts. Please give me a sign when it arrives, so I can be sure that
no customsofficer made his day a special one (sorry to say, but I have
strong suspicions about that happening some time ago).

Hell no I am not going to trim down the legs on the one that you tied!
That's in my sample bin for future reference. :-)

Here's a pic of the fly that you tied and the beetle pattern that I use.
The lighting isn't that good, but it should be good enough to give you
an idea of how similar the two patterns are.

You can see why I was so interested in your pattern! With a few
modifications to the beetle pattern I use, I can come up with something
that is more visible, quicker and easier to tie. Damn cool fly Big
Dale!
