news:YbX2d.314827$Oi.114840@fed1read04... has anyone figured out the overlaps yet? anyway, looks like patton, wolfgang and becky & s-fiddler, will be around at least one night in common. how about we gather at my place that evening and share a meal... i think it'll be the 14th? wayno says he'll be stopping by on his return from a federal court trial over in greeneville, tenn...whenever that might be...but i suspect that means around the 9th or during the first week. we'll also work out evening details for whoever happens to be in the area during wayno's appearance (you will be bringing the upside-down, left-handed guitar won't you wayno). for those interested (and willing to shed a few bucks), rachel and i like to eat at least one fancy meal up at the snowbird lodge and it would be a good place for one evening's gathering. btw, it looks like graham county may have been spared the terrible flooding damage suffered by most of the other mountain counties... hope the wiley trouts made it through safely as well. Dinner on 14th - sounds good. Count me in. If the chef de cuisine posts a list of requested ingredients I'll bring something besides powerbars, keeping in mind that it's a long way from Graham county to any store that knows arugula is not a town in Virginia. Agree that Graham seems to have missed the worst of it, which seems to have missed the westernmost counties. I grew up on the land that is now the Crooked Creek subdivision in Henderson county (it warn't no stinkin' subdivision then) and I may have shot a squirrel or a crow out of the tree that killed somebody on Thursday morning. news:XPZ2d.319145$Oi.148528@fed1read04... //snip// 12th thru 15th will coincide with s-fiddler, wolf & becky, and patton. have you heard anything from zimbo? btw, there's another place for rent right on big snowbird about a half-mile after the turn onto the creek road - 3 bedrooms. looks ok. the folks who own the blue boar offer it for rent. it's also for sale (200k +). it would be a good spot for your crowd... or, if jim/jennie decided to come up. 750 a week i think. I've been planning to camp most of the time, but have a very limited desire to drive to r-ville after any kind of clave celebration, so the place on big snowbird might be interesting. If enough people want to share that week it might be a good idea. SWMBO can't go, so I'll be alone but could use the place as a base for the week. Bob |

... Well what about you Op.....You gonna be there or not......Inquiring minds want to know..........You getting time off in late May for the Penns Green Drake Clave???? Handyman Mike Standing in a river waving a stick Naw I wasn't able to attend this year for various reasons, but hope to next year, if I'm still alive. If I'm not alive, I doubt I will attend the anti-'clave, but will try to make it to the Penns 'Clave. Regardless, you always have a place to stay, should you make it down this away--if we are both alive, of course! Mark |
