you are a complete moron. Quick, list the Presidents who have not used a
Bible for the main event. What book did Sam Adams use, BTW?? Also, list
how many Presidents did not recite the oath at all,but merely affirmed
with the words, "I do". There, once again, were quite a few(12, I think I

CNN's orange-haired septuagenarian chatterbox Larry King has
been bowled over by the new Age of Obama, enthusing that his
youngest offspring (from his seventh marriage) wants to be black.
I guess it's a case of black being, er, the new black.

Interviewing a visibly uncomfortable Bob Woodward on his eponymous
CNN show last night, Larry, 75, gushed: "My younger son Cannon, he
is eight. And he now says that he would like to be black. I'm not
kidding. He said there's a lot of advantages. Black is in. Is this a
turning
of the tide?"

The distinguished Watergate scribbler responded "well, maybe" and
talked
about how his 12-year-old daughter Diana liked Barack Obama's
inaugural
speech before gingerly steering the discussion towards George W.
Bush's
magnanimity and how he "hasn't, you know, made any cheap shots" at
his
White House successor.

It could have been worse, Bob. The other day, Larry blurted out that
things
were changing so fast that there could soon be a lesbian in the Oval
Office.
"Who would've thunk it," he said on KIIS radio in Los Angeles. "I
can't
believe it. Well, in 10 years' time we'll have, a what, a lesbian?"

fair enough question. Let's give it a try, and both go into the process
knowing that neither of us has any say in what will actually happeng:
1. First, you have to breakdown the detainees into a few basic catagories. I
come up with three: 1) folks clearly detained for no good reason. Many of
these were victims of bounty hunters and the like, and have no ties to
terrorism whatsover. The government acknowledges that this group makes up
roughly 1/3 of the 240 or so currently in Gitmo. 2) Folks with no real
evidence against them, but still of a suspicious nature. Once again, using
our government's information, this makes up another 1/3.
3) There are around 80 folks with clear ties to terrorist networks, with
ample evidence against them.
2. The first group should be released. But to where? In many cases, they
cannot go home(many from China for example were victims of ethnic
persecution). In a new age of International cooperation, I think we will
find nations willing to take them in. Hell, they could come here, but may
not have any desire for any further contact with the US.
3. The second group should be evaluated for trial, whether by court martial
laws or criminal law. At this late date, there may not be evidence to
convict, so perhaps they, too, have to be released. It's the price we pay
for prior ****ups by our leaders. Some of them will be tried and convicted.
4. The last group should be tried under our system of laws. If convicted,
they can and should be incarcerated in this country. We took them, we keep
them. None of this NIMBY crap from some Senator. Any maximum security
Federal Facility will work. If we can hang onto Crips, Mafiosos and the
like, we should be able to safely keep these losers from the public view. No
executions, let them rot in jail and avoid martyrdom.

That is my no doubt flawed thinking on the matter. Perfect? Hardly, but it
does re-establish our nation as one of laws and due process. Which, in the
long run contributes to our overall standing in the world, leading to better
cooperation in the ongoing process of rooting out terrorists worldwide.

Dude, at least try for a little consistency. Regardless of who's
POTUS, do you think a radical shift in US foreign and military policy
overnight is wise, or do you think a more gradual re-evaluation and
shift would be more prudent? What's your opinion on how aggressively
the US should pursue AQ across the Pakistani border? Are we soft on
terror if we let them go? Are we carelessly provoking a diplomatic
incident if we go after them? What do you think the US should do in
this situation? Are you capable of elucidating a reasoned opinion, or
do you just want to fling **** here?

Indeed, your behaviour on here has not endeared you to many either.

Gut you? No, hold you in custody and throw away the key because you are
a badass, perhaps.

You and others here have actually done more to engender hate than many
of those in your illegal custody.

One of your least endearing traits is your overweening conviction that
you are always right, and thus justified in using any means at your
disposal to assert your views. Including imprisoning and torturing
innocent people without due process.

Assholes like Dean actively use this group for hatemongering. You of
course also lie about others occasionally, merely in order to defame and
discredit.

Taken all in all, you are a pretty slimy bunch, and best avoided by
decent people.

1.5 million attend the inauguration - and only 14 missed work

Poor bitter loser, too bad for you.

But your lame attempt at being funny coupled with some talk
about the Cubs in another thread reminded me of one of the
most incredible rants of all time:

NOT safe for work, NOT safe for kids and for gawdsakes turn
down the sound. Other than that, enjoy one of this Cardinal
fan's favorite tirades of all time. ;-)

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on
Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king
Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and
the new administration.

true, but it IS amusing as hell to have Richie popping in with his bitter,
lame whines. In these difficult times, a constant reminder of the
****-stains that have been demoralized by the Obama victory is heartwarming,
indeed.

CHICAGO (AP) - Launching an all-out media blitz as his
impeachment trial draws near, Gov. Rod Blagojevich compared
himself Friday to an honest, hardworking cowboy about to be
lynched by a band of black-hatted political insiders eager to
raise taxes. After keeping mostly out of the public eye since
his arrest on federal corruption charges, Blagojevich is reversing
course with a series of interviews and public statements portraying
himself as the victim of vengeful lawmakers eager to toss him out of
office.

"The heart and soul of this has been a struggle of me against the
system," Blagojevich said at a news conference Friday.

Blagojevich denied any wrongdoing but wouldn't discuss the federal
corruption charges filed against him last month. Instead, he focused
on his efforts to expand government health care programs without
raising taxes.

He has chosen not to mount any defense in the Senate impeachment trial
that begins Monday and could remove him from office within days. He
may ask the Illinois Supreme Court to block the trial, arguing its
rules are hopelessly biased against him.
