I need some trip advice (on-topic)
Asheville is 2 hours east of Fontana Lake, Santeetlah Lake and Snowbird.
It has an airport, but I've heard connections through there can be expensive. I wouldn't fly into and drive out of Atlanta if I had a choice...much like the release of a magnificent bowel movement after days of constipation, making one's way out of Atlanta can be a strained and unpleasant processs... g jeff Charlie Choc wrote: On Fri, 03 Dec 2004 07:07:22 -0600, Conan the Librarian wrote: I'm still not sure where the heck I should fly into if I do go to NC. I'd hate to go to such beautiful country and sit in a hotel room when the day is done. Is the place you usually stay listed on that site? (I'll understand if you're shy about giving away any more info on the house. :-) sent you e-mail info on the rental agent... Now if I can just find the closest airport ... Asheville or Chattanooga... Chuck Vance (and is it true that all I need to bring in the way of flies is some yellow humpies? ;-) they'll work as good as most...esp. if they have hooks. g but, EHC and BWOs (esp. parachute) were killers this Fall. if you get the chance, you should see about getting over to Hazel Creek or Eagle Creek in the GSMNP. The folks at Fontana Marina will run you over and pick you up (sometimes - g) for about $45 - you can split cost if others go along. jeff |

Knoxville is also an option, but I never enjoyed driving through there either. (Is Malfunction Junction still as bad as ever?) Thanks for your help. Chuck Vance |
