"Dave LaCourse" wrote in message ... What does this have to do with the Christian Right, or Left, or Jewish In-Between for that matter? There's no religious connotations here. The shirt was offensive, and most people would find it offensive in any place but a fishing venue. Most folks don't know what a fly is in the first place, never mind seeing one on a t-shirt with the words "bite me". The store's representatives found the shirt offensive. Frank was stupid to wear that shirt anyplace but fishing. So now Frank isn't merely offensive to you, he's *STUPID*? Boy, you must really love Frank a whole lot! How many times have you seen a person in any store with the T-Shirt that reads, "Kiss my ____ (picture of a mule in blank space). How many of them get asked to leave the store? Very few, I'd be willin' to bet. WallyWorld has made a point of its so-called Christian values. That how I can make it about religion. I could understand, if the clerk might have taken offense to something that she clearly didn't understand, but in context, the shirt is merely about flyfishing. If the manager doesn't want Frank's business, he/she proved it by their ignorance. I guess Orvis should be contacted, to let them know that their shirts are offensive in a store that supposedly sells their merchandise. I bet a dollar to a donut that if Frank was to go to the clothing section of WallyWorld, he would find a shirt with the very same thing printed on it in the BASS section. How do you feel about rw talking about you like that? So you are implying that I might be one of the supposed rednecks, that don't exist in Neb.? One of the *poor* that you defended in such a heart-felt manner a post or so back? You're truly a sad individual Dave! :~^ ( d;o) |

Ya got lots of class, Mark. Unfortunately, it is all low. Besides, Frank has more class than you could ever hope to have, and I doubt he would ever do such a thing. GET A LIFE MOTHER****ER! :~^ ( |

You have bragged over the years, especially to Fortenberry, that you are a redneck and proud of it. I have two brothers-in-law that are dyed in the wool rednecks, and *they* are damn proud of it, as they should be. Frank isn't stupid. I said his wearing the shirt was a stupid move. Sort of like you getting all ****faced and troublesome at the clave. You aren't stupid either, but that was a stupid move. |

Your remarks smacks of elitism. To many, Walmart is a Brooks Brothers store, and you should not make fun of their customers. Barnard's remarks don't smack of elitism, they are in fact elitist. And good for him !! Almost half the people who vote in the US believe that man did not evolve but was created, as is, about 10,000 years ago. Why in the hell shouldn't we make fun of them ? I bet they find no fault with that, Frank. Face it, "Bite me" is like saying, "Suck my dick". It *is* offensive. English isn't your first language, is it? Save the shirt for claves or fishing buds - that's what I do with my shirt and hat. Do you really believe that you are the model for all humanity.....the standard that everyone should aspire to and by which they should be judged? Oh, yeah, almost forgot...... don't tempt them with your "**** happens" shirt. d;o) Dumb****s happen. Wolfgang |

Without seeing them? Talking to them? Simply unbelievable! I thought that the left was the politics of tolerance, and yet you and Barnard are the most intolerant people I have ever met. Let's see...... Joanne is not a right winger, she surely ain't a redneck, nor is she a Christian, she's highly educated and a helluva lot smarter than anyone I've ever met on roff. Yet, she shops at walmart regularly. Why? Because they have good deals on brand names including vitamins, toiletries, gardening items. When we need help with a hardware item, I go to a hardware store, but when we need a shovel, vitamins, etc, she goes to walmart. You *must* be able to discern the difference between a $30 shovel in a hardware store, and a $20 shovel (same one) in walmart. But, then again, maybe you can't. |
