Bill I wonder what percentage of our population still knows what they are and what they symbolize. The vast majority probably know that it's a flower of some sort......hey, heroine has to come from SOME place, eh? In all likelihood, fewer are aware that it is the internationally recognized symbo of your hobby........dead people. Stev Lenon 91B20 '68-'69 When the dawn came up like thunder Like thunder, huh? Poppies remind me of my Grandmother. I don't know if there was some connection to to her homeland, Switzerland, but she grew lots of those bright red-orange poppies. When I go back to the old homestead in the summer there a still lots of poppies blooming in her old garden, decedents of her original poppies. They make me feel good. Russell |
