Jeez, that puts you in a minority of one around here. Hope that
"stability" thing isn't catching . . .

See you at Penns but just don't drink any of the crap that LaCourse
has, I hear it's pretty terrible, especially the ice wine. Just
pretend you appreciate it, leave it corked, well chilled -- around 8C
is good, and I'll take it off your hands in May. No need to offend
the old goat-lover.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm home, exhausted, but feeling pretty

Bottom line is that I have Graves' disease (autoimmune disorder of the
thyroid) and my thyroid output was 15x normal. The huge amount of T3
hormone put my heart into atrial flutter - which is *very bad*. The

heart
and anti-thyroid medicines have me pretty stable - I'm not going to be
running any marathonsg, but can handle normal activity. I should be

able
to get past this in a couple of months.

---------
Partially snipped cuz I am so overjoyed to hear that things are better for
you.

Stan, doesn't Barbara Bush have the same ailment? Now I'm starting to see
the truth -- you be a republican under them,
oh-so-innocent-and-cute-eyelashes after all G

Now a piece of serious advice -- Stay on top of this thing, cuz like a lot
of chronic ****, we sometimes let it slip if'n we ain't experiencing
symptoms.

That heart thing running amok is some scary crap, no doubt!

Chris

That's good news. I have a cat with thyroid problems; all you need is for
someone to pin you down a couple of times a day and force medicine down your
throat and you'll be fine. g

It seems that Stan's thyroid got overly excited about the impending
holidays and ran amok, causing his big heart to pitter-pat at a
ridiculously high rate. This landed him in the hospital, where he's been
treated (or mistreated) since last Wednesday. I just spoke to him on the
phone, and he's hopeful he'll be back home by the end of the week. So it's
time for that fine roffian tradition of ultra-camaraderie and sending of
good thoughts, vibrations, prayers, and whatever else floats your boat.

I, for one, am ****ed that I bought a nice bottle of ruby port to create
the pre-Christmas toast, and my port-drinking buddy is unable to share.
:( That's gratitude for ya. Oh well, there's always the pre-New Years
toast.

Seriously, Stan, get well soon.

Well, hell, that's not fair to those of us who were going to visit you
in the crappy hospital and present you with a nice bottle of Fonseca
2000 Vintage, and some Ice Wine from Peter's neighborhood.

I hope you're talking about Konzelman Vineyards.
