It is very good to hear that the infamous Brenig gatherings are still
taking place, and with many of the same names cropping up. Sounds like
the fishing there is not getting any easier, but as always the company
sounds to be very good!

I'm now back living on the mainland, having moved back from the Isle of
Muck in January. With a wee bit of luck I may even get some trout
fishing done this year. (I have a standing invitation to fish Loch
Arkaig with a neighbour!) But we are expecting another baby in the very
near future, due on 31st July! So it may be a while before I take him up
on that invitation.

There are plenty of hill lochs to try out in the immediate area, and
several rivers with runs of both seatrout and some salmon, so I am
looking forward to getting to grips with thm in the coming years.

Speak to you soon,

Nick Noble

Is that what he told you? !!!!!!!!!!!!
Reg, you little liar you!!!!
The beggar used some shiny booby most of the day! Purist indeed! I opted
for the tried and tested GRHE on a sinking tip for about an hour and
decided, no go. Thence onward it was downhill.
Me? Fishing a sinking line? Never show my face again :-(

It is certainly something I would like to do, I'll have to see what is
happening next year, but I may just be there! (You've been warned! ;-) )

Good idea, I'll see what I can get sorted, there's certainly plenty of
good fishing around.

I guess you'd all prefer pre midge time of year?

Nick

PS Charles is that Mitre Street in Marsh in your address? I lived on
Grasmere Road for a year as student!

Hi Nick,

You have been missed over the last couple of years.

Peter, Stuart and yourself made up the party in those early days.

How was Muck anyway? I was at Iona earlier and there wasn't a lot there

Good to hear from you - all the best.

Alec,
What exactly is a SINKING LINE.
As a PURIST I am not familiar with the term.
Tight lines,
Diamonds.

A SINKING LINE is a FLOATING LINE which is past its best and the owner
is too bloody mean to buy a new one.

A FLOATING LINE floats (believe it or not) enabling the owner( who has
spent a lot of money on it) to keep his eye on it all the time he is
fishing.

A decent Sinking line will cost one or two small diamonds methinks!
