Have to take your word for that. I don't know any far-righties. I eat
lunch
with a far-lefty from time to time, which is always entertaining. Both
extremes
scare me roughly equally when it comes to idealogy.

Human beings show a marked tendency to be afraid of things they don't
understand. From the standpoint of sheer physical survival, this is
not an entirely bad policy. You should be afraid of everything.
Luckily (for you.....not the gene pool), you are very very close to
achieving this goal.

who can hardly remember when he last enjoyed a treat on the scale of
john wayne......the philosopher! :)

IMDB lists his birthday as May 26th, 1907. That'd make him 34 at the
start of WWII. While he could have been drafted, it's pretty unlikely.

He was briefly classified 1-A, until his movie studio got a deferment
for him. So yes, he was eligible for the draft. Or he could have
enlisted, as Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart, and many other celebrities did.

I wouldn't hold it against him that he avoided service in WWII, if only
he hadn't become such a blowhard chickenhawk during the Viet Nam war.

Proud to admit that that's true. I don't understand the extreme
right/left
and both scare the crap out of me. But then again I have it on good
authority that every one else's ideology but Dave's sucks so hopefully
everyone is afraid of my ideology too. ;-)

He'll never acknowledge it -- typical wingnut behavior. What is it with
these people? They can't distinguish between fiction and reality.

Facts are facts! John Wayne was rejected when he tried to enlist. The
liberal media has tried to re-write history and you goof-ball liberals will
believe anything the press says as long as it fits into vision of the world.
John Wayne didn't make many friends in Hollywood and the media with his
fight against communism and left wing nut cases. He is a certified HERO,
having been presented the Congressional Gold Medal by President Carter for
his undying patriotism throughout his life. Which is more than can be said
about you leftist bunch of America hating liberals.
