In the absence of any evidence one way or the other that
story is *far* more believable to me than the story told
by the white people. How many Hmong you figure to be on a
jury in Sawyer County, Wisconsin ?

about a dozen less than absolutely necessary for success.

wayno

Just a thought (and rhetorical question), but does anyone think it
possible that any given Hmong, refugee or otherwise, is just as capable
of going plain ol' fashioned crazy as real people...you know, white
folks? I mean, they're sorta like real people, so I seems they'd have
about the same ratio of sane and crazy folks in their population as real
people...you know, simple farmers and people of the land...

And as to the gun itself, the standard "import"/"civilian" gun most
commonly has a fixed 10-round magazine, although there were a relative
few of a detachable-magazine model imported. If it had a 20-round
"banana clip," SOMEONE purposefully increased the capacity. As to the
gun, it was designed as an assault rifle in an assault rifle chambering
and the "civilian" models imported into the US are generally
medium-quality and in caliber suitable for shorter-range hunting. I
know no one who has one as a deer rifle, but I know plenty of folks who
have them as "ranch guns" (to be jostled around in ranch trucks,
strapped to ATVs, in horse scabbards, etc.) because they are cheapish
but fairly accurate and operationally dirt- and grime-resistant. If
this guy really had planned to hunt humans, he _could_ have picked a
much better choice for not significantly more money.

No. That never occurred to anyone here. Think about it. If that
sort of thing were likely to occur any of us, what would we keep a
genius double-naught analyst like you around for?

Thanks for the link Ken. Hard read though, Vang stated that Vang
stated ......

Interesting (to me at least) that Gary Gillis felt compelled to detail
Vangs rifle "....Saiga SKS 7.62x39 caliber, serial number....." While
saying only "At the scene there was only one rifle located."

The white people had to have had at least three at the scene
according to their own accounts to the police. Willers fired
at Vang, that's not in dispute only when, Hesebeck stated that
he fired at Vang several times and the rifle found at the scene
belonged to Roidt who Vang claimed was about to use it.

Repeatedly stating to the press the "only one rifle" between
them lie smells like more than just bad police work to me.

Even in a real wild west sense, once you kill the other guy with the
gun, the fights over.

It may not sit well with your rather cinematic notions of fair
play but I don't think it's at all unreasonable to shoot them
while they're still handy and not wait for them to come back
with more white people and more guns so you can say "Honest,
Marshall Dillon, it was fair gun play."

Remember Vang is 5'4" 140 lbs. He was surrounded by six large
armed ****ed off cheeseheads one of whom took a shot at him
that had he not crouched down would have hit him. I have a
hard time finding fault with him taking out all 6, but having
said that it's probably not technically legal, doubtless
prudent but not legal, to shoot fleeing cheeseheads even if
they did try to shoot him.
