Unfortunately there has never been a day of peace in my life.
Somewhere someone is killing another in the name of their God,
ideology, or greed. I doubt there has been a day of peace since the
beginning of recorded history. There will always be a Hitler, Pol
Pot, Stalin, etc. There will always be hate and disagreement. Call
my a cynic, but I have no faith whatsover in my fellow man living
peacefully with his neighbor.

Another great point -

Sad but true
Humans find unique ways and reasons to kill and enslave ea other.
Be it religion, money , power
Even here on ROFF we have a microcosm of the problems - w flaming wars ...

I have also been involved in some of this flaming for which I am truly sorry
I initially came to ROFF for fishing
Fishing is an island or an escape from all kinds of problems and issues
Yet politics and issues do creep in

I find this ffCuba thread to be of interest and quite different than the
political posts preceeding the election
More friendly nad constructive

That's fine, but only a small and symbolic piece of the puzzle. If we
start with that, we also need to get rid of the hawks within Israel.
Then we need to get rid of the attitudes on both sides that the other
people are less worthy of life than their own. Then maybe build some
trust and cooperation. None of which can be accomplished at the point
of a gun.

Great point
Thanks ... but
I do not see it happening
The Arabs and the Jews have been killng ea other for years now.

Let them do it! ...???
IMO
It can't be stopped

IMO
Lets spend our efforts and money here in the US on our own citizens
rectifying our MANY problems

Lets stop the selling of arms to the highest bidder - War profiteers have
no morality
There are other more productive and conscientious ways to spur our economy
One would be energy alternatives another would be reccycling thereby saving
our planet

( In my own biz I have developed biodegradable or "green" products - they
are of high interest altho not inexpensive)

Well, Fred, I am heading to an island this Thursday - Tierra del

my overnight in Buenos Aires.

Dave
You seem to go to places that are on my lifetime list
I have heard that
The winds are supposed to be fierce there at times.

Monster sea run browns sound wonderful

I hope that you come back healthy and happy and w a great TR and photos.

I would also be interested in your booking, accomodations , guides , pricing
& specifics etc when you return
I should be done working in another year or 3 and my next agenda will be to
make up for some lost time and pare down my lifetime list - ( I would have
to take my wife on quite a few of these -Her name is also Joanne)
Chile is on top of my list as I can speak Spanish - making it a bit easier

Have great and successful trip

Sincerely

Fred

If you had read Lazarus' list of Israeli incursions and assassination
raids during the "ceasefire," you would be closer to understanding
that the two areas you seem to think you discovered, have been used as
launching areas, and the Israeli drones, (our own troops in
Afghanistan suffer casualties because of a "shortage" of drones) have
turned both areas into a free kill zone, with all kinds of counter-
fire radars, night vision set-ups etc covering those areas as well as
the relatively open area which is now the axis of advance the Israeli
columns have used in their cutting of Gaza into slices.

Your name calling is intended to intimidate me. But you have NO
answers, or opinions or comments about the Israelis who are protesting
the Israeli lame duck government's over-reaction, or the ISRAELI
organizations that are fighting the land grabs, nor do you want to
look at an Israeli map of the Israeli land grab on the West Bank where
the Palestinians are not even fighting back. Lacking anything factual,
and too fuzzy to get up to date, all you can do is name-call. You
should know that if you continue to name call, no crybaby stuff from
you will prevent a response in kind eventually.

Cool your jets Stan. You are starting to remind me of those groups of
Christian Zionists who blather as if the IDF were their proxy
instrument in some inevitable Holy War. Try to keep in mind that not
all Americans or Israelis for that matter, agree with what the
government of Israel does. I again suggest you read the Israeli
press.

Well said, Joe. These are my feelings too.
