Does he sign up for the Airborne Rangers? the Marines? No he probably sneaks into the bathroom and throws the fat chicks birth control pills away or gos out and gets a couple of bottles of Annie Greensprings. Nine months and two days after the selective service decided he's fair game along comes Elizabeth. No wonder the poor girl has troubles. I wonder if Shrub's handlers will let him continue to use that "Dick could be President" line... /daytripper (Along with everyone else on Earth, knows Dick *is* President ;-) |

Ken writes: Chris Matthews this afternoon and his take is that Cheney will kick ass because he's a battle-tested, experienced politico who will seize the perfect Reaganesque moment to make Edwards look like a babe in the woods. I love TV talking heads!!! Since when is Dick Cheney heavily battle tested?? He ran a few house races, and spent half of the autumn of the Presidential campaign going to the cardiologist's office. He's been a behind-the-scenes type of guy for most of the career....certainly, the brains behind the Shrub/Cheney pairing, but hardly the politician of the two. At any rate, I can't wait to see him go Reaganesque against a guy who some said was so good on his feet in court, fellow attorneys went just to watch him...... Tom it's my understanding that edwards has a reputation for being hell on wheels in the courtroom, and that may work to his advantage. while cheney may be more experienced in the political arena, "success" in a debate often comes down to tactical superiority, as opposed to the latter. the folks on this newsgroup are well educated, and thinking voters, but the sad fact is that many out there are not. charisma, good looks, and ability to debate well can influence folks like this to a large degree. i'm not saying that edwards is without substance, what i am saying is that i think he could kick cheney's ass in a debate for the above stated reasons alone. now, add anything else that voters might find attractive in his politics, and you have a pretty hot candidate for a debate. i'm hoping that i am not working, becasue i don't want to miss this one. i also have to wonder if cheney is physically up to the challenge. i don't doubt that, should the debate become *extremely* intense, he may lack the stamina to hang. snakefiddler snakefiddler |

If I were considering having a child, and selective service law changed in this fashion, all the inputs might add up to making a decision in favor of breeding immediately. This doesn't necessarily make him less than patriotic. He's done more than enough nasty things that you don't need to overstate the smaller stuff. Scott |

But I agree with you on one thing, all Democrats should be damn glad I'm nowhere near running anything even remotely political. How about a Dennis Kucinich-Jesse Jackson ticket ? ;-) Nah. I'd prefer Colin Powell & Elizabeth Dole. I have *serious* issues when Reverend anyone starts seeking political office. -- email:remove tt |
