Saltwater Fish Question from Sekiu

I caught this fish at Sekiu last year while taking humpies with white darts. It is not a spanish mackeral. The biologist didn't know that to make of it. Does anyone know just what this fish is? It tasted pretty darned good....not so strong as the spanish mackeral does. Any help would be appreciated....or you can reply to me at

It is a member of a group of fish known in the US as Horse Mackerel or Jack Mackerel.
They all have a distinctive dorsal fin structure and the readily identifiable row of scales
near the tail. Called "aji" in Japan they are a very popular and common food fish.
Your photo specimen is quite slender and long, so I'm not sure which exact Jack Mackerel it would be.

Sekiu is in the state of Washington and humpies is a pimk salmon.
