I meant to forward word of this to you, Scott. Glad you found it on your
own.

Believe me, I was glad when I heard the decision of those two judges! Means
I don't have to pack heat when I go to the polls tomorrow :-)

On the other hand, if they have the same octogenarians (nonagenarians?)
working the polls that were there last time around, there just may be a riot
yet!

Helping Ohio put the swing back into swing-state,
Bill

Republicans won their appeal, and it's unlikely to be overturned in time for
the poll openings.

Your polls will be watched and voters validated by partisans allied with the
current regime.

Lots o' luck to you...

hey bill,

it took me about 30 minutes to vote at 6:30am. i had to park a few
blocks away, but there no "challengers" at my polling place, and one of
the poll workers was a quite attractive young lady. so all in all, the
gauntlet wasn't so bad. how was it on your end?

The polls open at 6 a.m. here in Illinois. I walked over about
6:55 and received the 100th ballot issued (the election judges
numnber the outside of the envelopes.) Took me about 20 minutes
to vote. Traffic will slow down after 9 and pick up again after
5 of course, but still 100 votes in less than an hour is a HEAVY
turnout, especially in the cold rain and considering Illinois
has been solid blue since 1992.

If it makes you feel any better, take a look at this site:

Success, and painless. Didn't have to wait at all. Nonagenarians replaced
by youngsters (college kids?) and septagenarians, elementary kids selling
cookies, and not a challenger in sight. I fear I live in the "wrong" kind

Republicans won their appeal, and it's unlikely to be overturned in time for
the poll openings.

Your polls will be watched and voters validated by partisans allied with the
current regime.

Lots o' luck to you...

While I don't think (don't *think* mind you, but what do I know?) that my
polling place is one where either party is concerned with fraud, I haven't
gone up to vote yet. But now that I've had my second cup of joe, it's time
to lock and load (metaphorically speaking, of course) and run the gauntlet
of democracy!

Bill

hey bill,

it took me about 30 minutes to vote at 6:30am. i had to park a few
blocks away, but there no "challengers" at my polling place, and one of
the poll workers was a quite attractive young lady. so all in all, the
gauntlet wasn't so bad. how was it on your end?

Success, and painless. Didn't have to wait at all. Nonagenarians replaced
by youngsters (college kids?) and septagenarians, elementary kids selling
cookies, and not a challenger in sight. I fear I live in the "wrong" kind
of neighborhood to be challenged.

The elementary kids were probably GOP dwarves. The election has been
secretly conceeded, and now the GOP is in revenge mode. This is
important--Whatever you do, DON'T EAT THOSE COOKIES!!!

If this injunction holds, I withdraw my prediction for poll riots in
Cuyahoga county.

I meant to forward word of this to you, Scott. Glad you found it on your
own.

Believe me, I was glad when I heard the decision of those two judges!
Means
I don't have to pack heat when I go to the polls tomorrow :-)

On the other hand, if they have the same octogenarians (nonagenarians?)
working the polls that were there last time around, there just may be a
riot
yet!

Helping Ohio put the swing back into swing-state,

Just as long as they are not fertile octogenarians. That would be too much
for Mr. Miller.

We had mostly old people handling the registration and handing out of
ballots, but high school kids were handing out some other stuff in the
lobby. I was in and out before most of the people who were in the
booths when I walked in the front door were looking anywhere near
done. I'd used the system 2 years ago and knew the process. I also
knew who I wanted to vote for. Helps a lot. I suspect some of the
people were first time voters and many more first time with this
system. Very fast. I waited until after the lunch hour voters would
have been gone (1:30;pm) and there was no line, no problem. But I'm
in MN and live and vote in a 'burb. At the last house I usually
waited for Skye to come home and then took her along, so we were about
6 to 7pm. In presidential elections, we'd have a line, but off years,
no problem. Off years, mostly the really interested vote and the rest
stay home and then whine when they get a senator they don't like.
