That would be Robbinsville, as in Western North Carolina, might be a little
too far to tempt you..

Having never heard of Robbinsville (as hard as that might be for someone
from Graham County, wherever that is, to believe), I made the
connection: Danl lives in San Diego, San Jose (where Charlie's going) is
(probably) in the SF Bay Area. Aha! These "troutlings" Danl's talking
about might be wild, native trout, possibly even golden trout, somewhere
in the southern Sierras. That's hard to resist, even if they are puny.

So sue me. :-)

OK, Kevin. Here's the deal.

Weather permitting, we can probably go flyfishing for largemouth bass in
two farm ponds on the opposite side of Mt. Hamilton.

Actually, I am not that much into football. I quieter type pub with a fine
selection of beers, or possibly a place to get a decent steak and chat
afterwards.....not the hurry up type of place.

An excellent attraction would be a tavern with some good country or
bluegrass, possibly acoustic, not too far from an economical hotel/motel.
Within walking distance for those who have trouble with their balance in the
later hours , not to put too fine a point on it.

Say, Friday or Saturday night?

Danl,

It all depends on the weather. Right now in the Asheville area it is 58
degrees. It was unseasonably warm today. Will it be that way around
Christmas? Who knows? Some years yes, some years no.

I've lived in Western NC for almost 22 years and the one thing you can
depend on is that the weather is fickle.

Also bear in mind that all the rivers around here have had some damage from
Hurricanes Frances and Ivan.

Hope this helps.
