Classic

Congratulations KVD, what an awesome ending to his season. Also, Aaron
Martens , how can you come any closer than that, what an awesome
classic, very exciting weigh in.

No opinions on the classic? Or is it just me that nobody wants to reply
to? Not sure if I said , or did something to the wrong person, but
please let me know if I did.

I agree about the announcer, he is a joke, Fishburn was good!

I couldn't agree more. It was a very tough venue (or so it appeared, hunting
long and hard for legal fish, most guys weighing in less than a limit each
day, BIG names zeroing...) I found myself pulling for Aaron just because
he'd done so well in years past to come up 2nd, won the AOTY this season,
but alas, he finished 2nd yet again.

Then again, this is bass fishing and not NASCAR or "wrestling" so I don't
really have anyone to pull "against", I was happy that KVD got number 2, and
was even going to be stoked if Cochran managed a 3rd title and reset his
prior lowest weight to win a Classic (which I think KVD did reset.) I
wouldn't have minded any of the Super 6 snatching the title. The G-Man is
cool (or so it seems), Iaconelli is cool (I've met him twice now, once
before his Classic win, once since) Marty Stone lives 5 miles from me, it
was just a cool time, came down to ounces, etc. About the only thing missing
was Clunn being in the hunt...yet again.

I got hooked on Classic activities last year when they were here in NC, and
just wished I could've gone up to Pittsburgh myself, and been out on the
river watching these guys work. Maybe one day, High Rock will recover and
they'll be able to host another Classic here so I can be in the gallery
again sometime...

Yeah, but my mom always said if you don't have anything
good to say then don't say anything at all.

Or is it just me that nobody wants to reply
to? Not sure if I said , or did something to the wrong person, but
please let me know if I did.

I'll still talk to a self-confessed Democrat. ;-)

Hahaha, thanks Ken for not completely writing me off for being a
Democrat. It is not that I would never vote for a republican, but I
need someone that I am more in line with on issues I really care about.
I will always keep an open mind .

Personally, my politics are to the far left of Howard Dean
but I don't think the fish give a damn and I don't expect
that rofb does much either. Better I think to talk fishing
and leave the politics to alt.useless.mudslinging.

I say bring Fish back too. I do not like the new guy. Ike's shameless
self plugs at the weigh in stand I can do without. He's OK by me
otherwise. I was quietly pulling for Aaron.

I am glad KVD won. I hope Martens is doomed to 2nd place. Jooste from the
Federation reports himself and gets his catch zeroed for running a no wake
zone but Martens had no problem weighing fish and winning an FLW without a
license. Of course if Aaron had been running the wrong boat Irv the
liquidator might have had a different ruling like the guy without the
capacity plate. The man has NO ethics. IMHO. Sorry Thundercat, Aaron seems
like a nice guy but his ethics suck. Crown Royal, his sponsor last year was
very appreciative with gifts for my reporting Aaron last year. Joe Z.

I was really pleased there was no dancing on stage this time - and
little yelling.

I swear he looks like he should be in porn movies or something. BTW, who
the HELL is Robbie Taylor, and why is he broadcasting sidebars from the
Classic? I guess they had too many talking heads all set up, and not
enough fish being caught to give them much to talk about, so it was
kinda like 14 hours of one commentator asking another commentator who
they thought would win. I found the actual competition rather
captivating, as every keeper mixed up the standings. But I could have
done without the Emcee, Robbie, Kim, Byron, Shaw, Jay and Zona. Well,
keep Zona and Ron Franklin, bring back Fish (or better yet Ray) to run
MC the weigh-in, and let the fishermen do the talking.

I wonder if eternal 2nd place finishes are God's way of punishing
Martens for the license thing. Even though I like his fishing style, I
couldn't quite bring myself to root for him because of that.

Rich,
Maybe now that Kim accepted Andre Moore's proposal she will be a conflict of
interest? ;-) Robbie is the dork on BassMaster University on ESPN-2. If guys
Ike (And Skeet and Swindle) attract a few thousand more kids to try fishing
I can tolerate him and be grateful I don't have to be in a boat with him. I
am from the Al Lindner and Gary "Rotten" Roach age of fishing but I do
appreciate Ike's appeal to the youth. Joe Z.
