only two months. still unsure who'll be showing up. other than me,
makela and roger(?), doesn't sound like many distance travelers will be
in the area. small crowds seem to be the deal this year...not many
traveling to penns either. i'm gonna miss the regulars out west,
especially my good friend and fellow traveler, ij. but, each year is a
new adventure. warren promises some interesting hikes into new areas,
and since he won't be burdened with the gink boat duties this year, i'm
looking forward to spending more time on the water with him and learning
a bit more about the great mystery.

fellers, this life squirms away too fast...best get you a handful of it

Unless I get fired, together with a bunch of other guys, I will go, but
since I was one of the most recently hired at my office it doesn't look
all that good. 75 people out of approx 550 are to be let off.
The cabin is paid for, so if I can't make it I'm hoping that riverman
can, and will, use it.
Will know more in two weeks.

we will be there at the slide... as is always the case, my wife's
birthday arrives on the day the PMD's pop and I will be in Jackson
looking at over priced Bling, hoping to make the evening caddis.
I had to pass on a gracious invitation to float the river on SWMBO's

It's the price I must pay to play.

Got a couple of "ifs' in the way. "If" the house in Maryland sells and
"if" the wiff and daughter can get out here, I'll be driving out from
Nebraska and pitchin' a tent/sharing a room with someone.
"If" I can hook up with the Finn on Penns, I might as well fish with
him in Montana. Hey Mike, have you changed your cell phone in the last

hope you make it frank...we need some carnivale potential. with the two

I was looking forward to seeing IJ, Bruce and Willi, but I am trying to go
anyway. Some hikes sound good to me. I'd like to get a room at the Slide
Inn but last I checked none were available. Preferrably a single. If
anyone cannot go for some reason let me know before you cancel your
reservation. Otherwise I'll look into the cabins farther downstream. I'm

The film crew has recently been subjected to stern admonishments from the
Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and an ominous silence
emanating from west suburban Philadelphia. The union is making ugly noises
and the National Endowment for the Arts is conducting an investigation.
There has been talk of excommunication, exorcism.....and execution. For the
nonce, the film crew will not be quitting its day job. :(

Hi All,
I read through the thread.
I have an opportunity for someone.
A friend of mind booked us into a time share thing in Island Park, Idaho a
few months ago so we could attend my first clave. (He went to the Swedish
Clave.)
I can't go to this one. And he won't go if I don't for some stupid reason.
Here's what it is.
resevations : July 7-July 14.
what: 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo, everthing furnished, all kitchen,
fireplace, said to sleep 4. Usually no smoking in the places, but just go
outdoors.
My friend said it would be $70.00 per night for the place. Ya pay for the
week.
It is Island Village Park Resort. Located 22 miles from the West entrance
of Yellowstone.
Web address is:
http://www.rci.com
Then you have to go through goop to get to resort number: 0027.
Lots of on-site amenities.
My friend's name is Don Stern. I have no affiliation with the resort or
RCI. People just seem to get me places, as a guest and friend, to take
them fishin'.
The best bet would be to research the site first.
The address of the guy you want to talk to is:
.
You know how to remove it.
If you would cc: any emails to him to me . . . just want to know what is
going on.
BestWishes,
DaveMohnsen

Hey, if I want to fish for brookies and big ones at that, I can go to
Hawaii. Was watching the movie "10.5 Apocalypse" last night. When the
big tidal wave is getting ready to hit Hawaii, the tide goes way out
leaving fish stranded and flopping around. I played it over a couple
of times with the Tivo just to make sure my eyes weren't decieving me.
The fish were rainbows, browns and brookies.
Don't know if I want to hike for little brookies. Will see what the
week brings. Will have to leave by about midday on Saturday to make it
back to Omaha. If were still in the middle of the salmonfly hatch, I
ain't going nowhere but the Madison.

Last year I had a pair of inexpensive aqua stealth with no studs boots
for the boat. They were ridiculous on the Madison. I should have
known because it's tough enough there with the swift water and round
rocks. Now I have a big piece of carpet for the bottom of my raft, a
trick I got from Warren.

The Madison is like golf for me. 90% of the time I feel like an idiot.
Except last year the numbers were reversed for a few days and that's
never happened to me on a golf course. (G) bruce h

Well, tonight they're going to make an inland sea from the Gulf of

redfish in Nebraska. Cool. Then again, this morning I 'bout broke my
arm putting on deodorant (raised the arm under the open cabinet door,
nice lump and even bigger bruise), so the concept of a 10.5 here in
Nebraska is not all the far fetched.
