Actually there are two Fawn Lakes, and they aren't that far apart
(according to the Montana Atlas/Gazateer). Fortenberry was correct in
that *his* Fawn is little more than a patch of weed; and Jeff is
correect in his description of *his* Fawn Lake. But, it was fun
seeing all those swords and sabers come out.

With Ken's description/approximate location, it is in the Montana

Montana Gaetteer, but (picky picky picky) you are correct, it is in
Wyoming.

The Fawn Lake that jeff refers to is in the northwest corner of the

said it was. Ask Ken where his Fawn Lake is. They are not in the

I know where it is, I was there.

You still didn't say what page(s) the lakes are on in your gazetteer. Since you
said "according to" you ought to be able to say what pages have lakes labeled
"Fawn" on them. You also said they weren't that far apart, so they ought to be
on the same page, and you said "according to" the gazetteer 40's was just a
patch of weed - I'm curious to see how that's labeled on the map.

So, "according to" what page(s) in the gazetteer?

Ask Ken where his Fawn Lake is. They are not in the
same area. Ken's is in Montana and not *western* Montana.

40 said his was in Yellowstone off the Fawn Pass trail. There are some old
beaver ponds there that he probably confused with the lake, if he was even up
there at all and not just on a bar stool in Gardiner.

We should be on the Madison drinking Black Butte right now watching the camp
ground go up in flames. And, JR, you could help matters by sending a case of
Black Butte my way in this god forsaken oven in Dallas!
TR: Mopin Flop: May 2006; Deschutes
1,000,000 cfs (at least 7,500)
106 degrees
50 MPH winds (Stoneflies smashed on my glasses)
fornication everywhere (those that weren't smashed)
3 drift boats never drifting
3/4- hale (sunday)
2,000 casts
2 snooters, 1 foul hooked Redside
many wind knots
State of the Flop: Less Bourbon, more Deschutes Brewery spirits, another
year older, much too sober.

Cant' say: " Thanks Lord, some days are just plain worth getting up for."
Now on 6th Lawson Creek Pale Ale due to lack of Black Butte.
Happy Days!

I had a great day on Slough Creek with Frank and Willi and Danl and
Chas. It was easily my best Slough Creek day. We now know a shortcut to
the second meadow, if anyone's interested. :-)

Frank, I owe you three spools of Rio tippet -- 3x, 4x, and 5x. Sorry
about that. I left a lot of my **** in Willi's van when we reloaded into
Frank's truck. Danl and Frank saved my ass with spare gear. Thanks,
guys. I had visions of hanging out at Frank's truck all day.

I was disappointed not to fish the Ruby. Its my favorite stream in that
area.

When I drove to the Quake Lake clave site on the Madison I passed Silver
Creek and Henry's Fork, both of which are fishing well according to
reports. I fished them both on the way home. Henry's Fork was not
productive for me (middle of day), but I checked out a new access -- the
Mailbox. It looks promising for a windless morning or evening. It's an
easy 20-minute hike in. Three Japanese-speaking anglers were
monopolizing the risers in the huge pool above the bridge. They were
having a very good time!

Silver Creek was kick ass. The tricos are starting up.

I'm breathlessly awaiting the Fawn Lake TR. It was either a 3-mile or an
11-mile hike in, depending on whom you listened to.

It's a two-hour hike in and a two-hour hike out and when you
get there all you'll find is an unfishable mass of weeds.
Only pertinacious morons would waste a day trying to fish

griz-infested places to fish. There is no Fawn Lake, just a
wet spot full of weeds.

this is one of the very few post-modern roff ****ing contests that i
find truly humorous. one of its charming attributes is that the truth is
actually capable of being discerned. all it would take is the agreement by
both you and jeffie to meet on the ground in yellowstone, accompanied by a
few trustworthy witnesses (ah, now there's a potential problem), and each
walk together to the claimed "fawn lake" site. ...

The most charming attribute of this particular squabble
is that Jeffie insists on hiking up there year after
year. Now that's charming. ;-)

Mums the word, yeah right. It must take no small amount of
effort to doctor digital photos and concoct a phony TR.

Well, Ken, all I can say for sure is that I know for a fact that there are 4
people who can tell you exactly what the status of "Fawn Lake" was on
Saturday, July 15, 2006. Actually there are another 4-5 folks that could as
well but i/we didn't get their names.

So there were either 8 or 9 people at the so-called
Fawn Lake but you can't actually remember how many
people were there.

This oughta be good. Let me get the popcorn and settle
into my recliner, I've always been fond of fairy tales.

if i had the money, and i don't, i would finance the entire undertaking
just to watch and listen as the "loser" rationalized his mistake.

yfitons
wayno(well, how 'bout it, louie, or richard, or rw...)

Why should I waste my money? I can clearly see Fawn Lake on satellite
imagery in Google. Fortenberry is obviously full of ****. What makes it
funny is that he knows he's full of ****, but will refuse to admit it no
matter what.
