Does anyone own one of these?
How is it still holding up? I love the layout of this Fish N Ski.. I know winner is out of business. The hull is fiberglass.. Does the Transom have wood and is it rotting? I am hoping to get my hands on one someday. Thanks, Jeff |

I ran one for sseveral years in the late eighties -- not a fish-nski, just a single console bass boat -- and it was a great boat. The company folded because of management issues, not the quality of the boats. |

Am I nutts for wanting an old boat froma defunct company? I figure anything that could go wrong with the boat would be.... Hardware... Plumbing.. Electrical. Electronic.. Cables.. Engine.. This can all be aftermarket.. So the Deck has wood? Do you think on the Fish N Ski just the two decks had wood and then the floor was fiberglass? What was the transom made of on these late model? Did Winner's Designer go anywhere after Winner? Maybe I would like his new styles if they exist. One last crazy question.. I am not a big time fisherman. I would do more joy riding, tubing, whater then using it as a bass boat.. Am I nutts for wanting a Fish N Ski? Thanks Rich!! |

The company folded because
of management issues, not the quality of the boats. I figured that... Bayliner appears to make it even though they are garbage. Still Ever see any Winners on the water? |

I went to look at this guy... http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/8/2/85356582.htm Beautifull Boat... Looks like the owner took great care of it and his kids got it out and hit something good with the lower unit.. The lower unit was repaired and the transom had cracks along the splash well. They looked deeper then the gelcoat but I may be wrong.. 6K seamed pretty high for an 88... Jeff |

Ebbtide made the Winners Too... http://www.ejrc.cau.edu/DicksonArticleRDB.html The article is patently wrong. I had factory deals with both Ebbtide (Dynatrak) and Winner. Spent time at both factories. Ebbtide was in White Bluff, on Jones Creek Road. Still is, to my knowledge, although they aren't in the bass boat business any more. Winner was in Dickson, but was several different entities over the years. In the 40s, it was in NJ, and was among the first manfacturers of fiberglass boats. Before MFG entered the boat business in the mid-50s (before that, they made the first corvette bodies!) Winner was the largest manufacturer of fiberglass boats. Anyway, they moved to Dixon in the 70s, I think. They were bought out by Thompson Boats and moved to Wisconsin in the mid-70s, and Thompson closed them up after two years. Ned(?) Momany, who was the guy behind the Winner boat that we know, ahd been the designed for Winner in TN, and restarted the company at its old site, in 1980, and ran it until its demise in about 90 or 91, although he had an ongoing legal battle with Thompson over the rights to the Winner name. He turned up a few years later at Nitro, but I haven't seen his name anywhere in the industry in at least 10 years. |

1987 Ebbtide Compione..
Looks to me like they build a runabout on a Dyna-Track Design.. Kind of interesting. It is like a FishNSki without the livewells... http://www.edsboats.com/site_page_12...m_index_1.html I kno wI would do more boating, but I still want the luxary of the fishing features.. Hi Rich,
Ebbtide had a Campioni model that looks like it was build on the DynaTrak Designs.. Pretty slick.. It is like they stripped off anything fishing related.. Even though I am not a big time fisherman I would still like the luxary of having the fishing addons. http://www.edsboats.com/site_page_12...m_index_1.html |

What you have to do is look at the boat's horsepower rating plate. You should never run a boat unless it's powered at a minimum of within 20% of the rated maximum horsepower. Otherwise, you will be disappointed in the performance of the boat. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |
