Now see, this is what I'm talkin' about. I can't possibly
make a college football bet with the boy lawyer from Nawth
Cackalacky based on the point spreads because the point
spreads for Illinois are consistently insane. The unranked
Illini play the #5 Wisconsin Badgers this weekend and the
Illini are 2.5 point *favorites* !!!! Holy **** ! What the
F*** !! I wouldn't take that bet if we were only *given*
three points much less the other way around.

It's no wonder cases of booze and wine flow from Illinois
to the home of the Tar Heels. It's a conspiracy I tell ya.

THEN BET THE OTHER WAY. Even a dumb gurl like me can figure that out IQ

Bet against the Illini ? *ME* ??!! Are you out of your mind ?
I'd rather do the duct tape and carpet tack trick than bet
against the Illini.

Yeah, neither one of you understand the nature of the traditional
season-long roff football bet. Each week your team is playing
against the spread and each week their performance against the
spread determines whether you win, lose or tie for the week.
So if Illinois actually does beat Wisconsin by 3 this week they
will win against the spread and if Wayno's Tar Heels lose by only
9 or less against Miami (the spread on that game is Miami -10) he
will also win, so the week ends in a tie. Get it ?

What I'm whining about is the ridiculous spreads Illinois gets
week in and week out. This weeks spread is a prime example of why
I have lost this stupid freaking bet more often than not and what
seems like year in and year friggin' out for the last decade or so.

i will have to admit that i might just take the badgers and the
points--for my immortal soul. still, when the bookies do something like
that, **** often hits the fan. zook may have recruited him a bunch of
terrific athletes, as he did at fla.

I know, and Illinois only 2 out of 5. I'm glad I opted out
this year, first smart year for me in a long time. ;-)

The Illini do look a lot better this year, but they're
very young and I still don't know if Zook can coach anywhere
near as well as he can recruit.

Maybe they'll give you +21 against the Buckeyes in Nov.

Yeah, I'm thinking we could use 28 or 29 against the Buckeyes.

Good thing you didn't bet anything valuable. ;-)

OK, the 2007 Illini are for real. Who knew. Besides the bookies,

I'll say this... I can't remember the last time both Illinois AND
North Carolina both had wins like this on the same day. It has
certainly been since long before ROFF degenerated into the meaningless
little puddle of **** it is today.

And to think I was switching channels back and forth rooting for
*both* of them.

Is that anyway for a Mormon to talk?

Some of us see ROFF as a limitless pool of knowledge. It's all about
attitude, I guess?

See, I *knew* there was a reason I resigned my membership in that cult

Good point. But with stream levels as low as they are these days, can
