OT Good news

A while back I asked for your help in helping my daughter Diane in fighting
colon cancer. Yesterday she got the results of the second round of tests
following surgery, and at this point she is cancer free. She is gaining weight,
feels great and looks 100% better. While nothing is ever completely certain
with this type of illness, her prognosis is excellent as long as she continues
periodic testing.

My thanks to all of you who held her in your thoughts and prayers. I am not a
devoutly religious person, but I have never doubted the power of prayer and
positive thinking in combatting illness.

Once again, Thank you.

Very good news indeed.

Those of you who are putting off colo-rectal cancer screening for various
reasons need to follow the protocols and be screened. Early detection can
lead to cures.

Damn, Harry. I am so sorry to hear that. But, as has been said,
"early" means a lot. Study up all you can; knowledge can (in some small
ways) help fight the fear.

You're in our prayers.

Wow, Harry, sorry to hear that. Diane's was in stage 2a, and as such, is
considered quite cureable. Stay on top of it, and get a second opinion if you
feel the need. My prayers are with you.

Prayers are allways answered. It's the times we don't get what we pray for
that test us. I am very happy for you daughter and you. It's great when
you get the answer you want.
Number one son is halfway through his fight with Hodgkins disease. Things
are going well and it looks like we're going to get the answer to our
prayers as well. Hodgkins is pretty much a slam dunk these days.
I know we pay a lot for drugs in this country, but that and some of our
taxes are supporting important research that will help get the right answer
to a lot of peoples prayers. Part of the "too-much" that I pay for
prescription drugs goes for that research and I don't mind at all. Sometime
in the future when our grandchilden need help there will be a drug or
proceedure in place that will make getting the right answer to their prayers
a pretty sure thing..

I have every intension of being on the Madison in July. I am in the
process of finding the proper tattoo for the scar :-)
For all you young and not so young bucks that the fear God as not yet
touched... schedule a colonoscopy this week or sooner. It's not a
****ing joke. Having someone tell you that you have Cancer will be the
high point of this ugly ordeal…get it done

I go in for surgery Dec 3rd and pray too Christ and all other known
deities' things go well.

This colon cancer thing finally got me off my ass (so to speak) and I
scheduled a colonoscopy this morning while getting my annual flu
shot....been putting it off for quite some time. Thanks for the kick start.
