Hello Bill,
I did a Google Groups, Advanced Search, for you (you can do one yourself on the Google site) and found the following: Your first post appeared on 7 January 1997 and it requested opinions on a JWO Pontoon. Since then, you have posted approximately 3160 times. I did not try to find out when the newsgroup itself began, but it was probably sometime in the early 1980's. I doubt if this newsgroup started before that, I can remember when our first IBM PC appeared at the office in 1981; it had an 8088 processor (or was it an 8086?) with 64 Mb of memory and no hard drive. An internet might have been in use by a few scientists before that but I don't think it became widely used by the public until much later. I started using the web in the early 1990's and I was by no means an early adopter. I stand corrected, my search was flawed. Charlie is right, March 8,1996.

So "You were first seen 05/15/2000" has to be calibrated to Microsoft Time? Didn't Bill Kiene exist before September, 1999? And who the hell is Eugene Graham? :-) For my part, I have no problem with Google keeping track of my Usenet comings and goings. I'm even grateful for their efforts. Microsoft, however, is another kettle of fish. Wanna bet that they're keeping lists of people who say nasty things about the Evil Empire? BTW, there are rumors that Microsoft is thinking of acquiring Google. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

When I first started using usenet, I niavely used my real email addy. I
just did a google search for my email addy, and found it is all over the place. Now I know why my inbox is inundated with ads touting low interest rates, pain relievers, penis enlargement pills, people from Nigeria wanting me to help them get 30 mil out of their country for only 5mil, etc, etc. will that stuff stay out there forever? I dunno about forever, but as every indication is the archivers will continue to hold every bit of trivia ever issued in this medium, including introductory bon mots such as this http://makeashorterlink.com/?C62C52C86 and make them forever available for email address stripping - not to mention identity theft - it's probably not a bad idea to change your addy every so often ;-) /daytripper ("Read this and nobody gets hurt") |

My random access memory is going bad. I think it must have had 64 Kb of
memory, not 64 Mb. Yuji ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- "Yuji Sakuma" wrote in message ... I don't know who I was before then or what I was calling myself. But I've left a lot of junk mail behind. And the damned pills still haven't done anything.
