The winner wrote:

OTT, fishing is very good inspite of the high air temps - in the 80s
this afternoon. Took big brookies yesterday, and big salmon today.
Brookies on nymphs, salmon on tan caddis drys, size 18. Fished Harry
Mason's Killer Caddis and got two nice salmon fishing it wet, just
under the surface.

Another week and a half to go.

You should see the two young blondes from Russia that are working this
summer - dishwasher and cabin girl. Eighteen and sixteen. And, the
new waitress, a black haired 21 yo from Poland, is a knockout. I am
discovering that I really am a dirty old man. Joanne doesn't worry,
however. Her thinking is that dogs chase cars and they don't know how
to drive. d;o(

A line of thunderstorms came through this afternoon. Big light and
bang show that lasted for two hours. It is now very cool, so sleeping
will be comfortable tonight, using at least two blankets. Tomorrow
promises not to be as warm, so fishing should be even better than
today.

Dave, who still thinks PC is bull****. d;o)

All the off-topic chatter and political wrangling in this

So, for as long as the waters flow freely, I will complain

I, perhaps, would be viewed by you as a "left winger", yet I have not only

I could not agree more. I do not consider you a rabid left winger.
There is the difference, Tom. I am willing to bet that the people I
am thinking about would rather have their lips sewn shut than vote for
a Republican, *any* Republican. I once worked with a woman at GTE.
She was a technician, with no formal education, a lovely lady that I
often had coffee with in the morning. I asked her if she was voting
for such and such a candidate. Her reply was, no, he's a Republican.
He was the obvious choice and won office by a very large majority,
but she would not vote for him because of some bias ingrained in her
head from an early age. She was incapable of thinking for herself. I
believe she would have voted for just about *anyone* as long as they
were on the Democrat ticket. There are people like that on roff, and
fortunately neither you, nor Scott are one of them. Nor am I for that
matter.

obroff: Lots of mumbling at dinner tonight. After a couple of
bottles of wine, friends are kidding (I think!) about storming the dam
keeper's house in the morning, using 7 weights and wading staffs as
weapons, and lowering the flow to 1000 cfs. The lake is still full,
lapping over the top of the dam, so until that stops, the flow will be
Biblical. Going home Saturday to change my underwear, back on Monday.

There was no such thing as pc when I learned to respect a man
regardless his color or religion. You do not *need* pc to be
respectful. It is taught to you by your parents, and if it takes
root, you pass it on to your offspring. I have done that - no pc
