Maybe its less than serendipitous, but I've got a free day here in
Southern Connecticut (Clinton, near New Haven) and could use some insights of a good spot to fish for a half-day later this week before I fly back to Hong Kong. Anyone know the turf? --riverman |

It is fed by a bottom-release dam, and probably has the best August water temps you could hope for. Tom |

There is good smallmouth fishing in the Housy in August, but the only trout fishing I can think of would be in the Farmington. |

I'll stand corrected, but have seen the Farmington get pretty warm in August. Never fished the Housy at that time of year, but I figured it would be fishable, up near the dam. Don't they have a whitefly hatch?? If you are correct, there is nothing wrong with smallies, and the Housy should be easier for Myron to get to than the Farmington. Tom |

... You taking the wife with ya..........Good luck don't kill to many fish........... nah, just a solo getaway(still iffy....dealing with same old issue on the homefront), although Lisa wants to get up there for a weekend sometime, too. As for the fish, Bruce seems to feel that trout fishing isn't a great idea right now. This may be more of a hang out in the woods/visit with Bruce type of trip. Tom p.s. There are always some trout up there with your name on them, my friend! -- "The last one, I wont reply to you again, because there is simply no point in doing so, nor will I post to either of the groups again.
