Cancer will cure that. It worked for my sister. I buried her a year and a
half ago.

I know what you're saying. I quit more than 10 years ago, and still want
one every now and again.

My wife says she'll leave me if I ever start again, but I think its more
likely that she'll leave me if I ever quit again!

There is no real advice for you at that moment, you still have to stand it.

I stopped cigarette smoking 7 or 8 years ago. Didnīt smoked for 5 years, but
sometimes I need a good cigar.
Since 3 years I can handle it this way.
I smoke about 20 cigars a year and I never had the need for a cigarette. To
be honest I hate the smell of burning paper.
O.k. some very tricky, clever guys will tell me that I am still addicted to
tobacco. But I donīt suffer anymore if canīt smoke, even if I havenīt got a
cigar.
I am not sure, but I think air pollution will kill me faster than cigar
smoking. Anyway they can blame it on 8 years cigarette abuse.

Damn, how ya been Wim? Good ta know ya still lurk these waters. When ya
gonna find your way to North Carolina?

I think I'll wait a few years or decades, before I attempt to inhale another
tobacco product.

Stop thinking "you stopped smoking". Think that you decided you are now a non
smoker. Smoke one cigarette, and you are still a smoker. If you quit for more
than three weeks, your urge is all in your head. Is it tough? Think of the
most difficult thing you've done in your life. I'm sure if you did what ever
it was, you sure can stop smoking.

I keep repeatin' this to myself: "I am a non-smoker, I am a nonsmoker!"

Smoke one cigarette, and you are still a smoker.

What are you. some kinda sadist? I'm a non-smoker, dammit!

If you quit for more
than three weeks, your urge is all in your head.

It's only been a week, give me a chance will ya.

Is it tough?

O.K., someone better cough-up a Marlboro, and pretty damn quick!

Think of the
most difficult thing you've done in your life.

That's it, I'm history. If this is gonna be as tough as the fight with
Uncle Wally over HIS last beer, I ain't gonna make it!

Op --former non-smoker--

My sympathies to the newly quitting smoker. It was harder for me than quitting
drinking and I go to meetings for that one...:)

I was off cigarettes from 1985-90 and started again for no better reason than I
had no bug dope on the creek one day and the gnats were ferocious. I bummed a
Tiparillo from a buddy and away we went..

Now I'm on another quit going on three years now. But I'm still chewing the
nicotine gum. It works for me and my only real complaint about it is that it
is harder than hell to keep lit, let alone get a hit on....:)

Good luck..
